Bear Lake Reserve Lake Club

Absolutely loved this place. Bring your own drinks and food. No place for breakfast but the restaurant is great and the staff is awesome. You cannot beat these views. There is so much to do. I did not like driving the mountain trails but luckily my daughter was with me and took care of that! Highly recommend for a beautiful mountain retreat. We went to a wedding at Castle Ladyhawk which was so beautiful! Wonderful weekend

The lake club views, outdoor and fitness amenities are fantastic. However, don’t waist your time eating at the TapRoom & LakeSide54 restaurant if you’re expecting a nice quality dining experience that meets the high prices for the items on the menu. Or unless you are physically ‘trapped’ on the massive Bear Lake Preserve property. The restaurant food is delicious, however, the prices for the dinner entrees are not worth the overall value. The dining room staff are very inexperienced at providing the type dining service you would expect from a restaurant whose online digital presence implies / boasts the restaurant is an “exquisite” dining experience. We were the only patrons (party of 4) in the main dining room. It took the service staff 20 minutes to take our drink order after being seated. The staff had no clue about wine or champagne selections. Nor were they educated about the items on the nightly special menu. Once served, the server staff failed to check on our table. We had to flag staff to our table to order additional beverages etc. It was very disappointing to see a gaggle of staff around the reception area or the kitchen service area, but not on the dining room floor taking care of the customers needs. We have stayed on property several times in the past couple of years. I expected the services to be delayed during the pandemic. I see previous 5 and 4 star reviews mostly written several years ago. Don’t be fooled into thinking the bar and restaurant is still the place to eat and have a great dining experience. It is NOT. Hire a driver, or take the time to drive out of the preserves to spend your hard earned money somewhere else. I definitely will not recommend this bar and restaurant for night time drinks or dining to any of my family and friends. This was an extremely disappointing experience for myself and my invited guests.

this place was so beautiful I'm so Happy my uncle got married here great Job making this place. so beautifu. The food is so delicious and everything is so good the castle lady Hawk was just so beautiful and big I'm so thankful to go there. Just be careful when you are driving up and down the mountain if you go to fast you will fly off be safe and come to this beautiful Reserve

Hidden gem in the NC mountains. Boating. Great hiking, golf, tennis, pickleball pool, spa and restaurant. It’s great

Such a stunning place. Went hiking, had cocktails and dinner at clubhouse, went on sunset boat ride, saw a bear. Just a fantastic trip.
