Bearded Buffalo Resort

We loved our stay at the Bearded Buffalo!! 5 stars for sure! The Rushmore cabin had everything we needed for our stay! A fully stocked kitchen and a Blackstone grill on the back deck made for amazing meals as a family every night. The backyard fire pit was perfect for enjoying s’mores and enjoying the cool evenings. This resort is minutes away from Custer for anything we needed. It is also close to beautiful lakes (Sylvan, Stockade) where we spent lakes days on kayaks and paddle boards. Coming home each evening to a clean and spacious cabin made for such a relaxing trip 😊 Our family will be back for sure!

A really nice newer resort in Custer, SD was a great place to stay. The Buffalo Bungalow (fitting the four of us) was very nice, well stocked, and comfortable. It is close to bike trails and the natural wonders of the Black Hills. Bo, the Bearded Buffalo stood close by - can’t miss it. We recommend it highly.

We loved our time in the Buffalo Bungalow at Bearded Buffalo. The cabin itself was immaculate! The kids were ready to move in, haha! I loved drinking coffee on the back porch each morning with the deer that would come to visit. The cabin is in a great location. It's right outside Custer State Park and near Needles Highway. There's lots of food and shopping just minutes away in Custer. And it's an easy drive to get to countless other activities in the area. I highly recommend this place!

5 Stars - Peaceful Getaway at Bearded Buffalo! The cabin was perfect for our family getaway. It was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Stunning views with the creak running behind the cabin, comfortable beds, a fully-equipped kitchen and close to everything. The host, Ashleigh, was also fantastic. They were communicative and helpful throughout our stay. We would highly recommend Bearded Buffalo to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable cabin getaway!

The cabins are new and modern! Have all the amenities we could need! My kids spent hours playing in the creek in the backyard and we enjoyed picnicking and yard games next to Bo, the impressively carved giant Buffalo! Loved the general store! We purchased Black Hills souvenirs for the whole family that were unlike any we had seen anywhere else. Can’t wait to come back!

The Bearded Buffalo Resort is still under construction as of July 1, 2024 but let me tell you, it is in a GREAT location, it’s going to be amazing when finished (actually, it already is!) and the owners are just wonderful! We were taken care of from beginning to end of our stay. The campsite is in such a pretty setting - close to town but also felt like we could enjoy a little nature. We saw deer just behind the campground both days of our stay. Located a short drive from Downtown Custer, easy drive to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park and Sylvan Lake. Would absolutely stay here again!

We rented the 3 bedroom cabin at Bearded Buffalo and it was absolutely perfect! Tons of room, all the amenities we needed, gorgeous on the inside, and the location was fantastic. The little stream behind the cabins was a bonus and we saw wildlife every night in the backyard. Short drives to tons of major attractions and very nice grocery store is just down the street. The service was awesome and our questions were answered promptly by the hosts! Their trading store has lots of cool gear to buy souvenirs as well. We will definitely be back!
