Beauty Creek Campground is located at 7500 Beauty Creek Road, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814, USA. This places it approximately a half mile from the stunning Lake Coeur d'Alene, in a narrow, sparsely wooded valley surrounded by heavily wooded hillsides. The campground sits at an elevation of 2,100 feet within the vast Idaho Panhandle National Forests, nestled between the Cascade Mountains to the west and the Bitterroot Mountains to the east. Its proximity to Coeur d'Alene, a vibrant and bustling city, provides a convenient balance between wilderness immersion and access to urban amenities.
Accessing Beauty Creek Campground is relatively easy. From Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, you would typically go east on I-90 to exit 22. From the exit, turn south onto ID-97 and drive approximately 2.5 miles. - Campsites: The campground offers approximately 20 large, spacious campsites that can accommodate both tents, trailers, and RVs (ranging from 20 to 44 feet). Each campsite typically features a paved parking spur, a picnic table, and a fire ring with a grate for cooking. Some sites may also include shade structures.
- Restrooms: Vault toilets are available throughout the campground, and reviews consistently praise them for being "kept very clean" and well-maintained by the camp host. Some visitors even noted them as "the cleanest bathroom ever."
- Drinking Water: Potable drinking water is provided, typically through a hand pump water hydrant. While one past review mentioned the water being "discolored," recent reviews emphasize its availability and cleanliness. It's always advisable to be prepared with your own water or filtration as a backup.
- Camp Host: The presence of a dedicated and friendly camp host is a significant service highlight. They ensure the campground remains clean and orderly, provide helpful information, and contribute greatly to the overall positive atmosphere. Firewood is often available for purchase from the camp host.
- Reservations & Fees: Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, although some sources suggest reservations may also be possible via Recreation.gov. The fee is generally $23 per night for dry camping. One vehicle is included in the fee, with additional vehicles charged $10.00 per day (cash or check only), with a maximum of two vehicles per site.
- Pet-Friendly: Pets are allowed at the campground but must be kept on a leash, ensuring a welcoming environment for furry companions.

- Clean Facilities: The consistently praised cleanliness of the "campground/bathrooms" stands out, providing a comfortable experience for all campers.
- Proximity to Lake Coeur d'Alene: Located just a half mile from Lake Coeur d'Alene, it offers excellent access for boating, fishing (northern pike, chinook salmon, bass), kayaking, canoeing, and swimming. The nearest boat ramp at Mineral Ridge is less than a mile away.
- Extensive Trail System: The campground serves as a trailhead for the Caribou Ridge National Recreation Trail (a 5-mile trail with moderate climb and two outstanding overlooks of Lake Coeur d'Alene) and is close to the Beauty Creek Overlook trail (1.8 miles) and Mt. Coeur d'Alene Viewpoint trail (4.9 miles). This makes it ideal for hiking and biking.

We really enjoyed our time here. The first 12 or so camp spots are very close together with no privacy and place to pull your car in, so be aware of this is you’re reserving a spot. However we still loved the area, the open lawn was awesome to play catch in and the valley is gorgeous at sunset. Walking to and from the car could be annoying but we definitely got our steps in. Also NO BUGS! We never so a mosquito or were bothered by flies at the site; probably due to the creek being dried up but it was very nice to not have to use bug spray. The camp host was also the nicest and coolest host I’ve ever met and she made our time there even better. Would stay again.
Came here to visit a friend that was camping for several days. Campground/bathrooms were clean and neat, and the camp host Dory was amazing! She was fun and friendly, and quite enthusiastic about the area. She politely warned us off shooting any fireworks (it was the 4th of July weekend) and was a definite + to the overall experience.
One of the most peaceful, welcoming campgrounds I’ve stayed at. The camp host was incredibly kind—laid-back but attentive, and you could tell that she genuinely cared about maintaining a good vibe across the grounds. I do want to mention—it’s called Beauty Creek, but there is absolutely no creek or water access. 10/10 serenity, 0/10 creek. Still would absolutely stay again.
Stayed here for Memorial Day weekend. This campground was well maintained, the bathroom was well stocked with toilet paper and clean. Firewood available for purchase. The creek is dried up which was disappointing but I had seen this in previous reviews, there are a few potholes in the road driving in but easily avoidable if you’re paying attention. Some of the sites are pretty close together so you can easily hear your neighbors but if that doesn’t bother you I’d recommend staying!
With a name like Beauty Creek you woukd think it had a running creek. But no it was all dried up. Very disappointing when the water is what we were going for. Also we had very loud neighbors and a couple fighting. Was not a great experience. Would not recommend.
