They do not enforce quiet hours or cleaning up after your camp. There was a camper with a megaphone two mornings at 6am. Both camps on either side of us, a big group of guys and an older couple. Neither of which threw out their trash. Cans, cups, cooking tools left out in camp and tables. This caused bears to come near our camping area. Unbelievably mismanaged. Do better. Also, the areas nearby have absolutely nothing in the ways of food or activities if you're looking for things to do outside of camp or on the way home.
I stayed overnight at the campground one night during a road trip. We arrived late - well after dark and after the office had closed. Thankfully, they have a campground map online so we knew where we wanted to go for a site and thanks to Reserve America, we knew what was reserved and what was open for a walk-in. - The sites are well marked - better than any campground I’ve visited. There are posts in between each site with the number and an arrow. So, Looking at the posts on either side of a site define that sight. (I added pics of the posts on either side of our site, 12). - We stayed where sites were side by side with no separation or privacy - I’m not sure if they are all that way. If we weren’t just passing through, I would have wanted more privacy/separation from neighbors. - The price cannot be beat. I think the price also explains the stripped-down facilities. - They seem to like to stay on top of making sure site arrangement stays the way it’s supposed to. The office mentioned they drive around and keep everything in place. - Each site has a large bear locker and there are sets of school-locker style ones by the bathrooms. Those have the ability to put a lock on if you have one. - Given that near lockers are provided, was surprised at the lack of near/critter-proof garbage cans throughout the campground. There aren’t any garbage cans at all. You have to use the front dumpster. - The stone buildings (office and bathrooms) are beautiful and fit right in with the natural setting. - There are large sinks available for washing dishes. - The bathroom was clean (not spotless, but that’s difficult to do in a setting like this). - Shower temp and pressure was good. - The women’s bathroom and shower could have been more user-friendly. I can’t say if all bathroom buildings are the same. We stayed right across from one on site w012. There isn’t a ledge by the sink to set things on. The shower doesn’t have any ledges or trays to set toiletries on. The shower curtain covers only the shower and the bench is outside the shower. If you’re the only one in there it’s no problem. I would have been very uncomfortable if I wasn’t alone. Note: I visited mid-September on a Wednesday night. It was quiet because there was nearly no one there. So, I can’t comment on other reviews stating it was noisy.
BOOK YOUR STAY ELSEWHERE! Wish I would have read reviews before staying here. If you would like a peaceful, clean campground skip this place. This was the worst campground we’ve stayed at. The bathrooms are very outdated and not cleaned often enough. The sites are too close together with very little trees between sites allowing zero privacy. Their picnic tables also are disgusting, bring a table cloth! They have a lot rules one being “no amplifying speakers allowed” that they clearly do not enforce. It sounded like a rave throughout the night even after calling the ranger station and complaining. Guests were playing loud music until about 1:30 AM and starting up again right as quiet hours ended at 7 AM. There then was a religious service happening at 8 AM with a whole amp system we could hear clearly on the other side of campground. We absolutely will not be back.
I won’t stay here again. From my initial phone call to the office to the day I left, the staff was not particularly kind or helpful. Too many silly rules here. (Not just im terms of it being dry grounds) We booked multiple sites apart from each other and wanted to hang out as one group on a rainy night. We were told the other group couldn’t park at the site even just for a few hours so they didn’t have to commute in the rain and dark. My friend’s car in the overflow parking was issued a violation overnight despite having all the proper registration. We were reprimanded for volume while talking quietly around the fire at 10:20pm, while there was partying and music going on at 1:30am that prevented us from sleeping after all disbanding post-reprimand. We were issued another violation for leaving a few items in the wrong bear box, even though no one was at the site the bear box was attached to. It just felt like the staff here was looking to find something, ANYTHING, wrong all day, and then disappeared at night when there were actual rules to enforce.
I always go to camping never had a problem there, but this weekend 27 and 28 sept was the worst campsite because there was only the picnic table and seats . We didn’t have any lockers for the garage and 2 bears appeared eating through at 3am . They were thank god pacific and they left when we saw them. We even didn’t have the big square wood to set up the tent. The bathroom should have at least a bench to be able to change our clothes in the bathrooms . Tha A section are closed and the we had everything and no problem, but please fix those small problems. I felted my money wasted to the bad section.
