WV is a beautiful state in the fall. We had some business in Huntington so this was not a pleasure trip but we were pleased to find such a nice camp. Easy access, most sanitary dump stations we have ever seen. Quiet but we were there off season. $48/night for electric only as non=residents, $65ish I believe for full hookups. WV State does not support their parks which is one of the reasons it is more $$$. We were backed up on a water feature but it was very very low so not very attractive but would be if full.
We love our stays here! We’ve stayed in the four coves both times because of our toddler, it’s nice to have the park near by. (There are several playgrounds) The bath houses are always so clean and a short walk. The campground is always so well maintained, even when it looks quite busy it’s still very quiet at night. We will definitely be back again!
One of the most beautiful campgrounds I have ever stayed in! Campsite was right on the lake with a perfect view of the sunset. There weren't a lot of bugs, everything was clean and it was quiet at night. 11/10!
This is one of the best campgrounds I have ever been to. The sites are a nice size. They have nice trails and summer activities for the children. They have a camp store and a game room where the office is located. The only downfall is that there is limited full hookup sites and those sites are on top of each other. They recently added more water sites to Moxley which is nice. The rest of the sites is electric only but still nice sites with lots of waterfront sites. Staff is amazing. Before I end, a little advice, do not feed the geese. They are everywhere and they will hangout at wherever they are fed. I have spent a good hour just cleaning up after them before I could set up camp. I wish half of them would migrate elsewhere. I forgot to mention that beechfork also has a public pool. Campers still have to pay full price for pool entry. I think that should be changed to where campers only have to pay half to get into the pool. Beechfork is my #1 campground.
The grounds were pretty nice, our campsite was big enough to sprawl out with some extra space. The fire pit was nice to have. We did not try the electric plugins. The park itself is very nice, but lacks some of the views you can get at higher profile parks in WV. I would definitely come stay here again.
Stopping over for just one night thankfully. The road to the park is in incredible disrepair, narrow & windy with hairpin turns. We made a reservation with an actual human being for a lake view campsite. They neglected to tell us they had drained the lake. Surely that warrants a discount? No would never come back here!
