We drove all the way to Leadville hoping for a spot from the first come first serve basis campsite since all the campgrounds were fully booked . Luckily ,we found a spot on this campground . We were welcomed by the nice host . The campground was really nice . It was close to the lake and it was super quiet at night. The sites are spacious and they have good distance from other sites . They also sell firewoods which is cash basis . They have drinking water taps and clean restrooms. Will definitely come back here next time . P.S: This is an only tent campground.

This campground is amazing with your own private beach that doesn't allow day use...campers only. Extremely clean and the camp host was so helpful and kind. I had site 7 and must admit it was one of the nicest. HUGE site overlooking the lake. Great trails to hike nearby and a short 15min drive to Leadville.

These are some great campgrounds with some space between sites. Parking is available nearby, bathroom facilities and firewood on a self pay option. Nearby Turquoise lake has easy access for some water sports like kayaking. Leadville is only a 10 minute drive so easy to get new supplies.

First-come, first-served campground near Turquoise Lake in the San Isabel National Forest. We arrived on a Thursday, on a non-holiday weekend in late June, and there were about five sites available. We stayed three nights. When we came back from skiing and exploring the area on Friday, around 5:00, all of the sites had been claimed. I have a feeling Friday nights are difficult times to get a spot here. There are multiple campgrounds around Turquoise Lake so there will likely be a lot of people wandering the shoreline. It's not a place to go if you want solitude but it is a gorgeous, well-maintained campground. There are pit toilets and water taps but no shower facilities. The views of Mounts Massive and Elbert over the lake are just beautiful, though you won't see that view from most of the campsites. You have to walk a short ways to the beach.

Beautiful! The camp host was just the sweetest most wonderful lady around. Every time we saw her she always asked if we were having a good time and of we need anything. She knew the area well and gave great recommendations. And the campsite was beautiful!
