A very out of the way place. My Husband and I stayed and the first day/night I tried getting a hold of the owners to get more towels (there was only 1 towel set in the place) this was frustrating because they knew there was two of us. We did get more towels the next day, after we came back, in the afternoon. We stayed 4 days and never had any clean sheets or towels. So this is treated more like a BNB not a motel. Where you are on your own. There was a fish cleaning station and once we used it then we got a text-that we did not see until after we were done using it with directions on how to bag the fish guts. Why wasn't this in the binder that was in the room on how to do things? We did not get how to connect to the owners to get our needs met. Yes the place is clean, yes it is quiet, right on the water. BUT - no customer service. They don't tell you were to leave the key if you leave before the store is open, how to get out of the gate if you leave at evening or early in AM when gate is closed. SO much more could have been communicated that caused stress to my vacation. Will not return.
This is a good place to go for a quiet get away. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated and offer a great view of the lake. The owners work hard to ensure that your stay is pleasant. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to be away from the noise of the city
The owner Jud is very friendly and nice! He was very kind to show us the room before we locked in our stay, and provided recommendations for local restaurants (the Thai place in Santee near I-95 is amazing!). The other staff was also very friendly, and answered all our questions. We stayed for 1 night only en-route from Miami to DC. It was a great stay, we'll gladly do it again!
We had a great 3 days stay. We stayed in the hotel queen bed with kitchen. All rooms face the lake. Staff was great and the communication was great. Lived in SC for 20 years and never knew about this place but going forward we will stay often. Thanks for a wonderful peaceful stay. David and Sharon
Rented through Air BnB during Hurricane evacuation fromFL. Did not use any of the fishing or boating accommodations however the room was very clean, beautiful quiet property. Friendly helpful staff. Air BnB made an error in the billing but the resort staff took care of it for me quickly. Very nice place, will go back again.
