Bermuda Flat Shoreline Area

Gila County, AZ 85553, USA

Introduce

Bermuda Flat Shoreline Area, located in Gila County, Arizona, provides access to Roosevelt Lake for recreational activities within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category. This shoreline area offers various features for lake enthusiasts, but potential visitors should be aware of certain conditions.

The area offers multiple access points, including a boat launch site with ample parking for trailers and a smaller launch area suitable for kayaks and smaller vehicles. The latter location also features a picnic ramada, a grill, and a shower, providing some basic amenities. The lake water itself has been described as very comfortable for swimming and water activities.

However, visitors should be aware that the shoreline can become crowded, especially during peak seasons or when the lake water level is high. Recent reviews indicate potential issues with noise and disruptive behavior during nighttime hours, with law enforcement intervention reported. Additionally, the process for obtaining access passes has changed, requiring daily purchases at a kiosk located a few campgrounds away, and the price has increased.

While hiking trails are not explicitly mentioned, the area offers scenic views of Roosevelt Lake and opportunities for water-based recreation. The location is suitable for those seeking direct lake access for boating, kayaking, and swimming.

Key features of Bermuda Flat Shoreline Area include:

  • Boat launch and kayak access points
  • Picnic ramada, grill, and shower facilities
  • Direct access to Roosevelt Lake
  • Scenic lake views

Points to consider:

  • Potential for crowding
  • Possible nighttime disturbances
  • Daily pass purchase required at a separate location
  • Increased access pass fees

Bermuda Flat Shoreline Area is located in Gila County, AZ 85553. Visitors should be prepared for potential changes in access policies and consider the reported issues before planning a trip.

Shoreline is high due to high water level, pretty crowded, some kids showed up at 1 am our last night and we're breaking stuff and throwing it into the lake. Sheriff was called, person arrested at 3 am, very disruptive Can't buy passes at local stores anymore, have to buy passes every day (have to leave my campsite and drive to another, daily) at the kiosk a few campgrounds over, and price increased from 8 bucks to 12 bucks a night. Not sure I'll come back, lake water was very comfortable though!

Once you enter the area, the road branches off in a few spots. One of the area is a boat launch site with plenty of parking for trailers. If you continue onward, there is a smaller lot that fits about 2 or 3 cars. The road continues into the water so you can launch from there as well. It's also a great spot to launch your kayak. There's a single picnic ramada at that spot along with what appears to be a grill and a shower. While I didn't see any hiking trails, it did offer a nice view of the Roosevelt Lake "beach."

We enjoyed our time, there was space to back up our truck and set up our canopy on the shore line. Water is just very brown from all the dirt which I get is a given and there were several areas of underwater sticks and trees you have to be careful for.

Great area to camp though probably not as good if the weather was nice as I'm sure it will get rammed. Watch your dogs for the Rough Cockleburs they are all over and get buried in their paws and fur, big ouch.

30 ft motor home. Lakeside, fairly level. Good mobile connection with att. Went on the middle of week. Medium crowd. $12 per night. I heard the lake may be low. Would stay again.

Amazing place, here are few things: - Clean toilet and showers - Power outlet at Ramada ( no power at camping site ( Ramadas are opposite to Camping site) - Water outlet near restroom Site specials: - Ranger onsite - play area for kids - Large Amphitheatres that can sit 150people - Very nice lake access via a small 5 min hike - Clean restrooms, Ramada and Camp sites - No major wildlife that can cause campers. All good. Watch out: Teddy Bear Cactus,. Just stay on trail or walking paths,. You will be good
