This site exceeded my expectations and the gentleman (who I basically describe as the Bob Ross of the camping world) that was in charge at the gate was one of the nicest and most welcoming people. I have met in a long while. Site was beautiful and actually woodsy. Bathrooms were very clean and had potable water. They even had a kitchen/wash area for dishes. (Again, potable water) Clean sites didn't see garbage. Didn't hear much noise during night and sites were well spaced. Staff went out of their way to make sure we were accommodated properly and knew where things were. 100% recommend. Would stay here again. Hopefully for a lot longer.
We stayed in a tenting site. This campground is excellent. It's crazy clean and it shows. Bathrooms, laundry and sinks for dishes all great. The showers are a little rough but not at all a problem. Firewood is $11 a bundle which is entirely ridiculous... The hiking trail to the falls leaves right from the campground and I highly recommend it. Rocky harbour is a 5 min drive. If you see Walter working the gate there chat to him about things to do! He made our trip 100x better, were lucky to have met him and picked his brain. He is very passionate about the area and the park. We will be back to NL and this campground for sure. Thanks Walter!
Very tidy campground centrally located in Gros Morne National Park. Very nice sites that were clean and well maintained. My only complaints are that for a campground that could potentially host 400+ people, having only the single comfort station was inconvenient sometimes due to the high traffic. And really Parks Canada, if you're looking to save $$, maybe find ways other than supplying campers with the cheapest and thinnest toilet paper available.
Very private, large, wooded sites with water and 30-amp electricity. Garbage cans abound throughout the campground, and are emptied continuously by courteous park staff. The laundromat is handy even if there’s only one dryer for two washers. The machines take two looneys (C$1 coins) each, and there are no machines to change bills. The laundromat is connected to the shower block - an area that sports wifi. Firewood is expensive at C$11 a bundle and not very good (a combo of young pine and birch).
I didn’t get enough time to leave my appreciation to the best campsite service officer - Walter. He is a friendly, transparent, interesting and respectful gentleman, he and his colleagues made this campsite more beautiful. I couldn’t see him when I left cause he does the afternoon shift, if anyone sees this comment please let him know my appreciation, thanks! Thank you Walter! -#51
