Best Western Canon City

We stayed 2 nights mid week last week. We loved the location. We stayed because of the sauna and jacuzzi amenities. Unfortunately, the jacuzzi jets was not working. The sauna only got up to 160 after turning it on for 30 minutes to warm up. We stayed because it was close to the Thunder Dome Royal Gorge Train. We visited the prison museum too. The hotel was nice, but the heater fan in our room was noisy. Their continental breakfast was excellent and they kept it well stocked and neat. We would stay again, but call to make sure everything is working. We had asked if it was open and they said yes, but I guess we needed to ask if it was operationally working. If the jacuzzi and sauna is your thing, call ahead to see if they fixed it yet.

Came to Canon City for a basketball tournament with a group of 20+ and we were glad we chose to stay at Best Western. Not only is it cost effective but the staff added to the pleasant experience! Keaton the manager was highly accommodating and very friendly. Tammy behind the desk was warm, welcoming, and always eager to help. Every hotel employee we encountered treated us with kindness, respect, and a willingness to help. The rooms were spacious, the pool was fun, and the breakfast was delicious. No complaints!

The lady I made reservations with was the best part of this nightmare. Forgot her name. She was very friendly and helpful as to local area. The night clerk literally told me to let the hot water run for 20 minutes as only one boiler was working. The bathroom was not very clean, had red mold growing in the shower/ tub area. The ceiling tiles were all in disarray. If there is remodeling going on it is fine, but the workers need to button it up at the end of the day. The two guys at the front desk in the morning were unprofessional, and Aaron? (dark longer hair) actually rolled his eyes when I canceled my second night because the hot tub was gross and it was one of the selling points when I made the reservation, is ridiculous to have to wait 20 minutes for hot water in my room and not acceptable. The outside was slick and dangerous with ice from the parking lot to the entire sidewalk. A little effort to keep customers safe, can go a long way!

I checked in last night and the elevator was out of order. I got to my room the bed was clearly not clean or fresh, the coffee maker didnt have any filters to make coffee and the table had weird stains on it. went to go down to use the spa to clam my frustration and when I got there and turned on the jets and proceeded to the spa. As soon as I got in it was ice cold! The pool was warmer. I also noticed that the pool and spa weren't clean at all! Covered in algae. The suna didn't even work either! To top it off this morning they didn't even have hot water for the shower, had to bird bath to get cleaned. If I knew my experience was going to be this bad I would have spent more money and stayed at the Holiday Inn up the street. Do not go here. I want a refund!

It was average--not bad, but not great either. I've stayed at several Best Westerns in the past 2 years and this one was least desirable. It seemed a bit dated--carpet, curtains and furniture. The cloth couch was badly stained. I did not use it. The room was clean; the staff friendly. Breakfast was not as good as other BW's I've been to. Eggs were pretty dried out.
