Excellent hotel for the price. Front desk and restaurant staff were friendly. Room was nice. They actually had a good working bathtub, which is rare nowadays. In the big scheme of things I would call this a quite good hotel. But with ratings inflation giving it 4 stars would be a disservice. And compared to other hotels, including other hotels in the same chain, I feel this one stands out. They even have a working pool. I don’t use them, but when I had young children they would have appreciated it.

The rooms were clean. Older flooring, but the beds were great. The couters were low, but they were updated and clean along with a nicely done tub area. We were there escaping Milton and there were A LOT of rude folks there who were impatient and wasteful; especially with the breakfast food. I have to praise the front desk staff, and especially the gentleman trying to keep the breakfast stocked. He had such a great smile and incredible patience with everything happening in the mornings. 10/7 - 10/11/24.

Traveling the I-10? Visiting family in DeFuniak Springs area? This is a good spot for your overnight needs. It’s not a vacation destination, but it’ll serve as a comfy enough rest spot. The beds are the best highlight here. Comfortable, not too high off the ground, not too low either. The rest of the room and its appointments, just grin and bear it. Towels, not as soft as you’d like, noise from the hallway comes into your room as if it paid for it, lack of extra pillows available from the desk and if they do have it you have to go get it because there’s only one person on duty. Turnover service begins about 8am with a doorknock and someone saying ‘housekeeping’! So make sure you put out your do not disturb sign if you’re not looking to be up that early. Breakfast is included. And although that sounds nice, there wasn’t much to it and the quality of what was being (self) served, like thin gross looking sausage patties that weren’t more than warm is simply not worth your time. Hit a chain place outside, or for a 10-15 minute ride you can reach Ed’s restaurant or Bubba Jacks or Finnin’s like we did for some good breakfast/lunch eats, including cheesy grits and eggs and bacon. It’d be nice if you could get a lower room rate by rejecting breakfast, but that’s not an option. Many chain food options are within 10 minutes of this place. Dunkin’, Chik-fil-a, McD’s, BK’s, Whataburger, and several more. Though, avoid KFC at night, they don’t have good service. The big light is off making it appear closed, the crew tells you they’re out of things as if they don’t want to cook anymore. Really sketchy. If you need general items there’s a Walmart and other stores nearby too. If you do stay here I offer this advice: Booking (dot) com and Expedia got us the lowest rates, better than AAA and Rewards member of BW. Ask to stay in a low 100 (100-110)number room and park nearer to the main/middle door, or a high 100 number (120-126- closest to ice machine!) and park near the end of the building to minimize your walking distance to/from your vehicle as the hallway is dauntingly long. There’s a fire extinguisher at the far end of the hallway with a plumbing pipe chained to it to break the glass in an emergency-it’s within kids’ reach, keep an eye on your little ones. Looking extra for USB ports? Bottom front face of the microwave or back of the TV. Get extra pillows at check in on the spot. BYOC- bring your own coffee, theirs is not worth drinking. As for local places; I’m from NJ, we eat a sweet pork sausage link or patty typically with a hint of black pepper. Here in NW Florida this is some sort a smoked reddish sausage and it’s in all the local restaurants we tried. It’s tasty in its own way but markedly different than what you’d get in NJ/NY/PA diners. Stick to bacon if looking for something familiar. And don’t ask for corned beef hash, you won’t find it in a restaurant unless you buy it at a market and ask them to cook it for you. Which, they would probably do, because WOW folks in these parts are SO NICE and incredibly polite and friendly.

My sister and I made reservations here because we were traveling across the southeast. We had not seen the property and just went by the pictures. When we pulled up, the parking lot of almost empty and there was a group of guys drinking beer outside of the entrance. They stared at our teenage girls and then let us in the side entrance which is supposed to be secured. We checked the rooms to see if they looked ok and if we would feel safer there. The furnishings and carpet are very old and the place did not smell good. We asked for a refund and they refused. We spent $158 for nothing. We called customer service and who knows if they can even take care of it. They said it was up to. management if we were to be refunded. Don't stay here. The Holiday Inn Express across the road is a little more ($190 compared to $158) but well worth it!!!!

Amazingly nice people, person at the front desk offer to go to the otherside just to get us towels, also the breakfast guy is cool. Rooms were good with a TV, good wifi. Only thing I didn't like was that there were no carts and this hotel was just 1 long line with rooms.
