Best Western Escondido Hotel

We stayed 2-23-25. Online the rooms look nice upon driving up the hotel look nice but going into a room. You could tell the carpets needed cleaning when we got to our room. We didn’t dare takeoff our shoes until we put on our hotel shoes. We never walk barefoot at any hotel the pillows were like 12 x 12 there were four of them. The sofa look dirty. I never sat on it or set my things on it. The bathroom ceiling needed a good wiping down. The breakfast was decent. My husband brought breakfast up to the room. 1101 the front desk called and asked if we needed a late check out or if we were spending another night really?? We have stayed in five star hotels and resorts never have we ever been called on for that. There is usually a grace period my husband said we’d be leaving in 10 minutes when we left our room I looked down the corridor, and the maid was at the very end of it and not even in the same hallway of the room that we stayed in. All we got to the front desk my husband asked for a receipt. The girl behind the glass was so unfriendly. She never gave my husband eye contact. She never said oh sure let me get that for you. How was your day? Thanks for staying with us. she printed out the receipt and handed it to my husband and again ever made eye contact. She looks like she was mad annoyed. I would never stay there again. I wanted to stay at the Springhill by Marriott for $30 more. I think it would’ve been a better stay.

Dated rooms and lacked cleaning. Upon entering, there was white powdered substance on the tall mirror. Pet Fee was posted upon entry and it's listed WAY more than the company website. $40/pet PER NIGHT. I ended paying $240 just for my pets alone and they made less mess and noise than most the adults. I regret not being able to just leave this place as I arrived and there were no other options since I'm not from around here. Front of staff is a hit or miss and there's this one lady who doesn't seem to care to be there. Location: great Everything else... Just find a different place to stay. AirBnB would've been better in this case for us.

Basically felt unwelcome checked out early Bobby at the front desk would not extend my stay even looked at me like he wanted to hurt me told me I gave his staff problems I called because the hot water was off 20 min for hot water ? Everyone knows how a hot water heater works. Lights barely turn on hole in the showers where water goes in which means the tub is gonna collapse toilet barely flushed low water pressure any ways after breakfast I tried to extend my stay from Jan 15 2025 - Jan 31 2025 Bobby at the front desk Escondido ca location 92026 said it was up to him not anyone else I felt strong ego and intimidation from Bobby my stay was jan 14 2025 to Jan 15 2025 two nights they charged me a 300 dollar deposit plus 300 for the room which I liked and was fine with until I sighed up for rewards which Bobby didn’t like and saved money and it put the deposit back in my bank so if you are a member you don’t have to leave a deposit that’s the only good thing. Now I gotta find another motel in Escondido ca until the end of the month . Which is a hassle when you find a place you like .

I loved the layout of the room we had. King bed was comfy. Pillows were nice. Room had a full table and a couch and arm chair. Bathroom was clean. I would stay there again for sure.

The staff at check in were super nice. We asked for a room further away from the freeway and we got the furthest room :). The room had a fridge and a microwave. Super clean. The free breakfast was super good but we accidentally stole some lady's waffles she was making (she was nice about it though). Amazing room amazing stay. 5 star
