Best Western Gateway to the Keys

We were visiting for my grandfathers funeral so we just wanted somewhere to stay close to family without going too far out of the way. It is a great location and very well maintained. Considering it’s right on US1 it’s actually pretty quiet wish is great. The only problem we had actually got resolved quickly which was the toilet wasn’t really flushing properly. I’m not sure if it was the pressure or what but they sent someone out while we were gone for the day and it worked fine the next day. The breakfast was really good, way more options then I usually expect for the price. I did wish there were more seating options. We would have sat by the pool but it was a bit cold so we wanted to sit inside. All in all a good experience.

Always a great stay. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms and grounds are safe and clean. I always enjoy my stay here. The pool could be warmer in the off season, but the breakfast is great and for the price, it's the best option in the area.

Lobby and staff is great. Breakfast area is a bit small but wasn't that busy. Room was good for the price but the shower and toilet drain were very very slow. After a few minute shower, the water was ankle deep. TV was pretty small but it worked. Door to the room didn't latch the best and there was a gap underneath the door. Location was near stuff but that area isn't the greatest. Either way I was content with it & worth the price paid.

After looking at 2 star hotels, I decided to pick the only 3 star in the area hoping it would be a little better but it wasn't. One night at $160, then in order for me to check in 2 hours early (2pm) I was charged an extra $30 for a room that was already good for occupancy. Some issues, the room was clean but the furniture was very old and beat up the chairs you wouldn't even sit in. The shower was painted over tile and chipped, the curtain rod ready to fall off. The patio around the pool was very dirty, a good power washing would help. I go for ice, the only machine they have is gone! The desk told me to hike over to the gas station and buy a bag! Next time I'll take my chances with a 2 star and save a few bucks...

Clean and well-kept hotel. Lobby area and pool are very nice. Good breakfast. Rooms are a bit outdated but clean, and the beds are comfortable. Air conditioning worked great. Parking lot was well-lit at night. Short drive to the entrance of Everglades National Park and less than 30 minutes to Key Largo. There are also lot of bars and restaurants around, which was great. FYI this hotel does not have a fitness center. Would recommend staying here if visiting the area, especially for the price.
