Customer Reviews
It’s not a brand new hotel and some parts of the grounds are showing age and wear. The staff works hard and are very hospitable. Our room was one of the renovated ones and everything is great. The beds were good, nice sheets and bedding. Carpeting was new. The ac unit was temperamental. Water pressure was almost non existent and the TV was very slow in changing channels. We appreciated included breakfast even tho the coffee was just fair. Overall, you get what you pay for and it’s lake George after all.
This was a great hotel. It's situated in a decent spot, with lots of activities available in the area. The hotel itself felt a little cramped, but that's par for the course at the price. The rooms themselves were great. They were clean, and the bathroom was good. The staff were polite, the breakfast facilities were good and had a decent selection.
Good in a pinch but not as a destination. We had so many problems at this hotel, and most went unfixed. -The room door wasn't close-able. All it took was a firm push, and the door would swing open, so our belongings weren't secure when we left the room. We were told management refused to fix it after we alerted them. -Old-fashioned spring mattresses that make tons of noise when you move -Water temperature changes suddenly, to freezing cold, to scalding hot. -No elevator, and they mistakenly gave our first floor room away, so we had to carry our infant up and down the stairs. -Dogs barking in the hallway at all hours of the night. -If you're smell sensitive, the bedsheets smell very strongly of dryer sheets, so bad, it made our skin smell of dryer sheets. -All the smokers position themselves in front of the door, so it's frequently very smelly going in and out. We ended up checking out a day early and going to another hotel.
Totally dirty rooms. Floor was super dirty. Hallway not clean at all. Gave us very disgusting impression. Regreat that we did not add $40 more for better hotel. Fortunately only one night. Never more in this hotel and probably in this brand.
Our stay at the Best Western of Lake George was a last minute decision. I had stayed at Best Western hotels before so I figured it was a safe bet. While it provided a place to stay for the night our stay was not good. The person checking us in wasn't friendly at all. She threw a pen and then our key cards on the counter because apparently standing up was too much work. Rude behavior from someone being the face of the company. The hallways had a very off-putting odor. The room also had a weird smell. Kind of like a cheap deodorizer. The room was CLEAN...one positive. Whoever does the cleaning should get promoted to the front desk. The water pressure sucked even for a hotel. The beds were horrible (way to firm) and the pillows were even worse (some plastic bags crumpled up would have been more supportive). We definitely didn't have a good night of rest. The person who checked us out was great. Very friendly and professional. The other positive. I probably won't be staying at Best Western hotels again after this visit.
