Best Western Prescottonian

This Best Western should be renamed Worst Western. They practice unethical business practices for a lodging business. Our room smelled strongly of smoke after one of their guests smoked outside our room and the wall unit heater blew the smoke straight into the room. We couldn't even open the window to air out the room because it was on the same side as the heater. It gave both of us a terrible headache and we asked the front desk rep if she could move us to another room away from the smoke. She said no and if she moved us to another room, she was going to charge us again. This has never happened to us and we've stayed at a lot of hotels across the country. This hotel advertises non-smoking rooms and this clearly was not. The room was uninhabitable for us. We love Best Western and have stayed at many, so much so that we are a top tier member of their rewards program. Because we couldn't stay in the room and they refused to move us to another room, we ended up leaving and not using their service. They also refused to refund us. We ended up staying at the La Quinta down the road which was much, much better. Listen to the other 1 star reviews here and skip this hotel.

All staff was very friendly. Cleaning staff and front desk especially. Fan in the bathroom in room 304 needs a little maintenance, it will begin rubbing and making noises if left on more than 5 min. Hot breakfast was great. The person doing the service continued to make food up until 9 am which was great because we got in there at 8:50. Very dog friendly environment.

We decided to take an impromptu weekend awake and landed at the Best Western in Prescott. The check-in attendant was friendly and informed us of their new policies, including an enforced no smoking policy in the hotel. As we are non-smokers, this made me EXTREMELY happy to see a hotel taking action. We had the King Max room, and there was plenty of space. The room has a fridge, microwave, and personal coffee maker. The hotel is conveniently located to historic Whiskey Row (only about 1.5 miles away) and has a yummy restaurant on site (Mi Tierra Mexican Restaurant). The hotel currently has a hot breakfast but will be going to a cold continental breakfast on 01/01/25. The breakfast was my only real complaint. The setup of the breakfast area caused unnecessary congestion while people were trying to make their plates. Other than the upstairs occupants having pet elephants who were up until almost 2300, the hotel was very quiet. There is also plenty of parking for large trucks and trailers (we had a dually and flatbed trailer with us). Overall, I would stay here again.

Very friendly and nice, there was a situation with our rooms and the desk clerk Aspen handled it like a pro, and we all got into our rooms. No problem. Thank you Aspen. Pretty name too!!!

We were charged $250 for smoking in our room. We were NOT smoking!!! Or vaping or doing anything else. The sensors obviously have issues as I see I am not the only one to report a similar issue. The bigger issue???? The company/owner/manager is completely unresponsive. Whatever you do- Prescottonian- do not respond to this post to tell me to email the general manager. I have. 3 times. And I haven't gotten a response. Your policy at the desk is just to give your email address? Which you do not answer??? Very poor service. Your devices obviously ARE fallible. And your policy is ridiculous. We were getting ready in that room during the time that you allege we were smoking. Perhaps our styling devices and/or aerosol hair spray/dry shampoo set it off? When were those detection devices last calibrated? Did you personally check the room for odors of smoke? (there wasn't other than a very faint underlying odor from when that room likely was a smoking room once upon a time). Additionally- our reservation was made by a family friend. We transferred to us upon arrival. She went in with my husband when we checked in and we gave the desk OUR card info. However- SHE was charged. Even for the alleged (but completely false) smoking. I'm uploading a pic of the "policy" that is posted so everyone can see. BEWARE! You may be falsely accused of smoking in this hotel and they will do nothing to rectify the situation. Stay away!!! I, meanwhile, will continue this fight until it is resolved in our favor.
