Loved the trails and the narrow but peaceful beach. Perfect for getting your feet wet. Great sunset scape over the beach and bay with occasional sights of osprey eating fish and bald eagles gliding over the tree tops. Good for family and place is very secure. Beach closes at sunset. Highly recommend if you want to wash off the stress with a couple of hours before sunset at this park. Do walk the beach trail. Plenty of short exits to a generally private viewing of the beach and bay.

Great place to swim and relax on a sandy beach, no need to cross the bay bridge. You'll need to reverse a spot from the website. I really like this as the beach doesn't get over crowded. For small kids it's great as it's really shallow and does not have any strong currents. Beware of jellyfish though. The bay is fairly shallow, even past the breakwaters the bay is only chest deep for at least 100 yards and probably more. Beach goers are mostly families so you won't hear music blasting or lowlifes being lowlifes. Highly recommend.

What a beautiful area! We go to Terrapin Nature Park often, and this park is very similar but on a larger scale. It is very well marked with multiple paths. Everything was fairly flat except the pond trail, which had some small elevation changes. Regardless, it was still easy enough for dogs and children. In almost all the muddy areas, there was either a small wooden bridge or planks to walk over. We also crossed several fishing spots. We came early on a Sunday morning in April and paid a $6 fee to enter, which we were able to pay with cash or card. I think their website indicates an additional entrance fee between Memorial and Labor Days so plan accordingly.

I absolutely love this park. It has a nice beach, swimming, lots of trails, bathrooms, changing room, foot shower, water bowl for dogs, play area, handicap parking, wooded beach pads and the view was gorgeous.

nice.. but. we went here because they were 'dog friendly', they even gave us a dog biscuit at the gate. however, there are no signs whatsoever about what areas are actually 'dog friendly', and where dogs might actually 'be allowed'. there were no signs related to having a dog in the park.. we picked the first beach (because no dog signs) and were later told the dog was not allowed there. the explanation was not clear, so we just packed up and left the park entirely. I would have thought they'd explain any dog restrictions at the gate, but figured they must not have needed to because they must have signs (since supposedly 'dog friendly'), but nothing. not going back. our boy had fun, he was able to walk a ways out and kids and adults were out far because it was so shallow.. maybe bring kids, but not any dogs? seemed a little contrary to their website, which got us all the way out here in the first place
