Customer Reviews
We loved this facility! We stayed at the 6 person cabin and had a great time. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and I was impressed how few bugs were in there! The pool was a little cloudy but really relaxing. There was an option to swim in the lake but we passed on that. My husband and I caught some huge bass, catfish, and bluegill. Our dogs loved the dog park so much! The game room had a bunch of card games, a pool table, and a foosball table. The fire pit was close enough to the cabin to not be a long walk but far enough to not be a hazard. This will definitely be an annual tradition!
Campground has some potential but seems to be missing on important things. We stayed for memorial weekend and we were disappointed to find that the website is very inaccurate.. “Organized Kid Friendly Activities”. That makes you think Hayrides, scavenger hunts, bingo… but there was nothing. “Pizza Cafe”. They have a huge front office with what seems to be a deserted/abandoned Cafe. When we asked if they serve pizza the staff explained that they didn’t even know the website listed they had a cafe. It also listed they have water toys like trampolines and rafts but they didn’t have anything like that. They have what looks to be a cool building for the kids, but once you get inside it’s just a couple very old arcade games. Again, you would just think they would take advantage of a nice building and try to have a ton of things for kids to do. The website seems to have pictures stolen from google. The staff is very limited, they opened late and closed early and for some reason seemed to never be up front when we needed them to be. I’ve been camping me whole life and on a weekend this big you normally see kids running around, golf carts decorated and pure energy. If you camp you know that good feeling and it just felt like this place lacked it. We decided to stay in a cabin for the weekend, I wasn’t too surprised to be charged a house keeping fee but I was very surprised to find my cabin full of dead bugs. Everywhere. I understand to a point but if you’re charging me a housekeeping fee I would hope that they would at least double check it before we get there. We had to clean it before hand and then they ask you to help out the “house keepers” and clean it before you leave. It just didn’t add up. The bright side is the pond is beautiful and the property seems to be pretty decent. We saw people catching fish and they had baby ducks walking around.
If you are going to need to use the bathhouse DO NOT stay at this campground!! The most disgusting bathhouse I have ever been in. Multiple toilets filed with feces. The floor is flooded with water. Covered in dirt, mud, and hair. The shower water times out around 30 seconds. You have to keep pushing a bottom. For the three weeks we were there the bathhouse never got cleaned. After a couple days of being at the campground we went to hook up water (waited for the cold snap to be done) it wouldn't turn on. We contacted the office and she said that she knew it would be before we showed up. Why would you not call and tell us before we show up???? The good is that people keep to themselves and there are ducks. That's pretty much it.
We had a great stay at Beyonder Sleepy Hollow! The campground was quiet (but nice and lively on the weekend), clean, and super relaxing. Loved the fishing pond and how easy it was to get around with a golf cart. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the location made it easy to explore nearby spots. We'll be back.
Quiet, safe, clean environment. Only stayed one night to get off the road. Didn't stay long enough to really enjoy the place but it was perfect for our needs.
