Bible Beach State Camping Introduce
Bible Beach State Camping, located at RF6P+6M, Mackinac Island, MI 49775, offers a unique and free camping experience on the shores of Mackinac Island. This location falls under the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, providing a rustic and natural camping environment.
According to visitor experiences, camping at Bible Beach is on a first-come, first-serve basis and is free of charge. The camping area stretches from Bible Rd/Bible Beach to the end of the road, offering multiple potential camping spots. Designated spots are identifiable by their established fire pits and buckets.
In addition to the main area along Bible Beach, there are reportedly three more free camping locations on Mackinac Island, including two near major inland lakes. Local shop owners may be able to provide information about the third, more secluded spot.
While the waterfront location offers a phenomenal camping experience, visitors should be prepared for insects. While mosquitoes were not reported as a major issue, viscous flies were noted to be prevalent. Visitors recommend bringing insect repellent, fly swatters, or other insect deterrents. Some visitors speculate that a fire may help to keep flies away.
The opportunity to camp along the water's edge, combined with the free and first-come-first-serve nature of the camping, makes Bible Beach State Camping a unique offering on Mackinac Island.

Customer Reviews
Had the privilege to stay on a plot on the waters edge. Phenomenal! 🔥💎 The islanders told me it’s free and first come first serve. The camping area reached all the way from Bible Rd/Bible Beach to the end of the road. I passed about 5 plots (3 taken) to find what I chose. You can tell the designated spots by their set up fire pit and bucket. There are 3 more (1 secret 😉) free camping spots, 2 by the major inner lakes. Ask the shop owners for the third. If you aren’t prepared, mosquitoes weren’t the issue, but them viscous flies! I had a swatter on standby during my business calls lol! Maybe a catcher would have worked, or fly paper. A fire might help but didn’t use.
