Very friendly campground! Manager, Wes, is laid back, funny, kind, and accommodating. The campsites are pretty packed together, but the campground overall is small and it's meant more as a home base for doing other things that the lake and area offer. There's hiking, horse trails, a nice playground, a beach area (you get two wrist bands for entry with a campsite reservation), marina, fishing, a cute downtown area to walk around, and more. We were in site 30. One pic is the distance from the bathroom to our site. Very close! There were many (very level) gravel sites that backed up to the bathhouse. It has one shower per side and several bathrooms. The women's room stayed fairly clean despite a big turnout for Labor Day. The guys in my family said the same (2 showers in there, they said.) Our biggest/only complaint was loud, unruly kids that stayed out well past 11pm. (We have kids, but these kids were feral; destroying things and being a bit out of control for 9/10 yr olds. Ie. throwing rocks repeatedly at a metal supply closet door! Yes, I stopped them.) That's not up to the campground or manager, just camping neighbors, which changes constantly. Each site has a water hookup, 20/30 amp power, two 15 amp plugs, a level gravel site, a picnic table, and a fire ring. Dumping station is just up the road. Wood is for sale near the dumping station. We got ice at a gas station only 2 miles away in the town area. The beach/marina access is very close and convenient. I would camp here again!!
The Campground was very clean as were the restrooms & showers. It is conveniently located near Lake Lou Yeager. I wish the campsite parking was easier. The sites were @ a 90° angle to the narrow one way gravel drive.
Its peaceful. Nice campers. A little high but worth it.
Worst campground and beach/lake ever! Campground manager Wes hassled us about having our boat at our campsite. Wasn't in anyone's way but were told to move when other campers had boats there. Beach House manager was also very rude and on a serious power trip. We were told we could not park our boat near the beach so our daughter could see a friend. She and Wes threatened to call the cops even though we didn't do anything wrong. Campsites suck and facilities are horrible. Will never camp here again or boat on this lake. Litchfield should be ashamed how the campground and beach are ran!
Small but very nice campground. Wes, the campground manager, is the best; friendly and accomodating. He stopped by a few times to see if we needed anything. We will definitely stop here again.
