Cannot wait until they reopen this place is magical especially in the off or rainy seasons when there are few other campground visitors. I e seen beautiful waterfalls pop up in the middle of the Forrest only to vanish after a couple days without rain and come Nearly face to face with a visiting mountain lion and her Cubs. I advise you to go all out for the glamming version of camping as my family always did and bring all the best lines a soft throws and prepared High end meals which can be warmed upon arrival. This with some red wine a d good cheese from a local artisanal shop should be all that’s needed for a trip you won’t soon forget!
We just returned from another wonderful family stay at the Huckleberry Tent Cabins. We enjoyed two tent sites with friends and our teenagers. The mosquitos were hungry but that is to be expected near a creek. The bathrooms were clean, as well as our cabin, upon arrival. Another bunch of wonderful family memories made, even during social distanced Covid-19 times. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that people were taking wearing masks very seriously at the visitor center. We will be back!
The cabins and the setting are wonderful, however this seems to be a party spot for young adults. There were groups of young adults that partied late into the night. Despite the 10pm quiet hours people were VERY loud past 130am, yelling and swearing, and there was no one there to enforce the quiet hours. Sadly i barely got any sleep and it ruined the whole experience. While I understand a certain amount of noise is expected, I just wonder where the camp host was. And whatever happened to camping where people are respectful of one another? I miss it.
There is no way to rate our experience, But we are rating on customer service since we are business owners.. Short story we had reservation and they are cancelled because of Mother Nature. We decide to still come to the area since we were already on our there from Sacramento. We had come to terms with being there in the rain. It was my partners bday and he wants to do some nature cleansing since we have a very stressful, demanding business. So after still going we go to ranger station and ask questions. We tell the ranger about our reservations and my partner ask about the gift shop cause he wanted replace a coffee mug from 13 yrs ago . Well it was closed on that day. We decided to hike around in the rain some small trails.. On our way back the park ranger comes looking for us and tells us that he talked to the gift shop owner and he is gonna open the shop so we can get a replacement for my partner. As a business owner this is what customer service is about.. HE did not have to offer to do this but he did. He was sorry he had to cancel our reservations and was very nice. From one business owner to another this what customer service is about. we will def be trying to go back soon. Thank you to the shop owner and the park ranger for making a bummed situation into a memorable one for my partner on his bday .
We have been going to this camp site for the last 30 years. Every year it is getting worse and worse. Recently it changed to a private party the service and reservations is almost impossible. Hours and hours waiting on the phone and lesson to that dirty music. The cabin cost was $20/night. Now it is $100. I can understand that but they need to fix for better communication specially for those who hate on line reservation.
