Beautiful spot and very well maintained campsites and bathroom facilities. Hardly know this is "backcountry". Beautiful hike to the campsite as well. Just over 7 miles from the parking lot. The water here is crystal clear. Ross lake is one of my favorite spots in Washington State.
Great campground along Ross lake. This is tbe only western campground on the lake. The campground sits deep in an inlet and is not visible from the main part of the lake. Campground spots are wokded, so those using hammocks will find no problems. For those that like to hike, there is a nice trail that heads up to the Pickett range.
A great place to spend 2-3 days enjoying the surrounding area, the flora, fauna, and the air is so refreshing, crisp and clean. Definitely go on the designated trails in the area where you'll see beautiful giant trees, mosses, lichens, and rivers. Getting here is a bit of a chore but it's well worth it; first it's a short downhill hike off Hwy 20 (Ross Lake Resort Trailhead) to the water's edge and the dock, where they will then pick you up by boat and take you to the Resort 1 minute away over the water. I didn't stay in the resort but the friendly staff did give us the boat ride up to Big Beaver Campground for this wonderful 2-3 days trip.
Great fishing, beautiful views. Great place to camp.
Great campsites with spectacular views and access to hiking trails.
