Was here about 2 weeks ago in mid May. We arrived very late to the campground around 6:30pm, not expecting anything to be available but luckily a nice woman offered us her tent spot since she was with her family in her RV. That night was unfortunately very difficult due to there being a high wind warning. Our tent was shaking and it was difficult to sleep. The rest of the nights were fine though, and waking up to the sunrise lighting up the red rocks right from our tent was an experience I will never forget. Although this campground is situated a little farther down the river, it seemed much more private and with more trees. The road traffic could be heard a little, but was not really a disturbance. There were also clean and convenient toilets 50 feet from our specific site. Plus no cellular service (yay!). Great experience, definitely coming back.

This is the main place to reserve your first come first serve sites along the river. Found out the hard way! Made a mistake and reserved group site b but hey had the whole place to myself. Loved every second of this beautiful and scenic cap ground. For the ADA folks, awesome camp site across from B that has a paved trail to the river bank!

Loved the Big Bend Campground. Super clean restrooms and we had a great site with trees and some shade. We stayed 14 days and had a great view of the Canyon and Colorado River. Hiked in some local hikes with water and visited Arches, Canyonlands and Dead Horse. It was a busy and great location to visit all of the exciting things Moab has to offer.

We discovered the place by chance, since we loved the landscape and we decided to find a place to stay one day and enjoy the surroundings of the Colorado River and its canyons. We went with our motorhome and the area, due to the large number of activities that can be done in the river and the beauty of the place, is always full, so I recommend arriving early to reserve a spot. Our visit was in June 2019, high tourist season in the area, something to keep in mind if you plan to stay. There are normally no employees, so the reservation is made by looking for the spot and then filling in the form with your information and depositing the money indicated in an envelope that is delivered to a designated place at the entrance to the campsite. Park your car and enjoy nature and fresh air.

There are a bunch of similar looking campsites along the stretch of road leading to big Bend. What sets big Bend apart from the others is that it has a few more trees and shade, and since it's further down the road, you'll get less traffic passing by. None of these campgrounds have running water but big Bend has a small beach on the river you can rinse your feet in.
