My boyfriend found this campsite and it was such an amazing experience! The camp hosts (Debbie and Jean), are so kind and can answer pretty much any question you have. The campsites feel very private but it’s easy to talk to your neighbors ! Everyone was so friendly and you can even tube on the river surrounding the campgrounds. There is a store about 20 mins prior to the campsite, and you’ll lose service around there (though it was so nice to be disconnected!). The only reason it doesn’t have five stars is that I would recommend bringing your own water!

I have been coming to Big Bend Campground most of my life. We started coming in the early 90's and now as an adult I come here with my friends and family as well. I love how remote you really are, it's a great place to disconnect from everyday life. I cherish the memories made here, and I look forward to this trip every year. I grew up staying in the river loop and would advise that for anyone with kids, they will have a blast. Now I stay in the upper loop on the ridge and the views are immaculate. Tubing in the river is an amazing experience, and don't forget the fun on the rope swing! Tons of beautiful trails to casually walk. You'll catch fish here even if you've never held a pole, and enjoy a clean mountain river in the process. Shreve's store outside the campground has everything you could need if you run out or forget anything. Stop here for ice cream, and grab some local beers while you're at it! I couldn't say a bad word about Big Bend Campground if I tried. You won't regret staying here.

We stayed at camp site #12 for a weekend and loved it. It’s the first site on the left as you enter so you’re close to the firewood and water. A water pump was right next to our site and the bathroom facilities were kept clean. There’s no cell service so plan for that as you’re traveling to the location. PRO TIP make sure to download maps offline before your trip!

Went camping here with my significant other And the best thing about it was there was no cell phone service and just nothing but raw nature all around And a river to boot. At the campground they have river loop sites because the river wraps around the campground and if you can get one that's right up against the river it's the best site because you can have access to the water's edge. Truly out in the middle of nowhere in southern West Virginia. Loved every minute that I was there.

This happens to be among my preferred campgrounds in West Virginia. The campsites are nicely spaced apart, there's easy access to water and firewood, and the campground rangers were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Note: There's no cell reception unless you drive back approximately 20 minutes. There's complimentary parking at the entrance, as well as two free vehicle parking spots at your campsite.

Amazing experience camping here! Beautiful area with exceptionally clean bathrooms and showers. The views inside of the campground are breathtaking as the campsites are nestled into the peaceful mountain side. The camp hosts Tomiko and Rick were very hospitable, welcoming and very kind to us! They made us feel very welcome, we’re looking forwards to seeing them again next year! Definitely a spot to come back for an annual getaway!

The campground is very well maintained. I visited with the sole purpose of fly fishing the Potomac and it didn't disappoint. The access road to the campground ran parallel to the Potomac which gave me plenty of opportunity to scope fishing spots out as I planned my outings. Having access to private showers, restrooms, and water made the stay really easy. Couldn't recommend this place any more.
