Big Elk Floats & Camping

Our trip to Big Elk Floats and Camping was a total win! We set up camp, hit the river for a float trip, and chowed down at Queen Bee’s. The award winning, breakfast burrito at Big Elk was so amazing, I’m still dreaming about it! Even though the river was a bit shy low, it turned our float into a high-speed adventure—like we were in a river race without even trying! If you’re up for great times, great food, and a float that’ll make you laugh, Big Elk Floats and Camping is where you need to be! Very clean bathrooms!

My family has been using Big Elk floats for the last 4 years. They're always very nice and helpful and we always have a fantastic time. They did have a little upgrade this year that they haven't had in previous years, the little back support on the canoes. That was a nice little addition one of the guys offered while helping up launch our canoes and kayak.

One of our favorite camping spots yet! Very clean and well managed! Fair pricing and the location is so perfect! We had a wonderful experience canoeing down the river with Big Elk and could not recommend it enough!!!

Every Single person that worked here that we spoke with was helpful and kind. We ran into people on the river and when we told them where we were staying, they said that’s the best place on the river fantastic owners!!!

We will definitely be back! I cannot say enough about the wonderful customer service. From the first phone and throughout our stay everyone was very attentive, professional and kind. That was so appreciated! We had a great campsite. The restrooms/showers were very clean. The owner went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay and our 2 eight mile floats. We had a great time!

This place is the place to be whether day, tent, rv, or cabin camping. Our rv site was perfectly level. Nice large trees and right on the Big Elk River and Big Sugar Creek. Great camp store with friendly staff. Not to mention the float and fishing opportunities. Fantastic place if your camping with kids. If you don't camp then start just so you can come here.

This campsite and float venue has it all! We rented a Rubber tandem kayak raft for us and our first river float with our 60lb dog and it was perfect! No tipping at all. The Campsites are spacious with full hookups snd pull thru available, quiet hrs was nice and all the staff is helpful and very friendly. We've stayed a few times now and no issues at all.

Big Elk Floats is where it’s at! I will continue to only camp here when I visit the Elk river. Bathrooms and showers are clean. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. The breakfast burrito on Saturday morning is a MUST! We faced many obstacles camping in the rain this past weekend and the staff was so accommodating. They went above and beyond to help us, and keep us comfortable. You guys rock! God bless y’all!

We’ve been camping at Big Elk Campground for years, and it continues to be one of our favorite places to relax and enjoy nature. One of the things we love most is being so close to the water—it’s perfect for fishing, swimming, or just sitting back and taking in the view. The campground is always clean and well-maintained, which makes every stay comfortable and enjoyable. The owners are incredibly helpful and friendly—they go out of their way to make sure guests feel welcome and taken care of. It’s been exciting to watch the campground continue to grow and improve each year. You can really see the care and dedication the owners put into making this a special place for families and campers. We look forward to many more years of camping at Big Elk!

Never camped, but floated multiple times. It's always a great day with Big Elk! They take great care of you, and the guys are a hoot. Great little supply shop up front if you've forgotten anything. Everyone is friendly and helpful!
