We took our travel trailer for a week, and had all the comforts of being home. When we arrived we noticed the site had trash left behind from the previous campers. Also, at the designated area for trash drop offs, it was very full. Overall, the grounds keeping could improve and be updated. Our biggest concern was the laundry room, the fact that fellow campers have no etiquette saddens us. We had to wait for other campers to retrieve their completed wash, so we could use them. The small W/D should be updated. (For small loads it took two times to get our lightweight items dry. $2.50ea/$5.00.) Again housekeeping lacked in this area. We did not use any other services on site. We liked that local places we’re easy to access and didn’t take much time. They do have a nice location and glad it supports travel campers. We would try Big Oaks again keeping everything in mind.
This campground was horrible. We arrived and we checked in. We had provided a ride for two who were not camping with us. Their ride had shown up even before we arrived. The check in person demanded I pay for two guests. I informed the person they were not staying and that their ride was waiting for them. I was forced to pay a fee for two extra people so I could get checked in. A few minutes later I was told that the driver of the two who ride with us had to pay a fee to pick them up. Needless to say the staff was very rude and informed the driver and the two who rode with us to never come back. Well we will never come back. I don’t recommend this campground again. We were not allowed guests without paying the extra fees no matter if they used their facilities or not.
Great place. Nice campground. I stayed in a cabin and it was perfect. Military discount for Active Duty. 24 hr security at gate. Would definitely recommend. Perfect balance between camping/cabin in woods with comforts. Great place!!
This is my 3rd time camping at Big Oaks. I would recommend this campground to anyone. I stayed in one of the cabins each time. They were very clean and spacious. I had family members stay in a tent on a campsite. The bath houses are also very nice and clean. Also the bus service from the campground to the beach is very convenient. I will definitely stay there again.
The people are very nice, the cabin we were in was in an odd spot IMO. So we got recommended to come here, had no idea really what the cabins were like before hand.. Than we got there, while the cabin itself looked beautiful at first it was pretty dirty. Also as big as our shed in PA. A shed isn't a cabin for us back in PA, so didn't live up to what we thought it was going to be 🥲.. It was pretty dirty like I said before, they said it was cleaned but there was stuff on the floor sticking to our feet, beds weren't cleaned good and underneath the mattress were dirty. No bed buds, as I did check for that. But again it's super super small, so if you're a family of 5 with little kids, I wouldn't stay here. And you need to be pretty outdoorsy as well, because these cabins are pushed to the back back which is fine but to get to the pool or stores you need to walk a good bit or just drive ur vehicle. The door was rusted at the bottom as well as you could see through the door on the one side, and the lock wasn't secure. You're also extremely close together so if you have kids or you're loud during fun time your neighbors WILL hear you. The a/c worked good, but the fridge didn't. Wasn't keeping our stuff cold or frozen. We ended up leaving for a family emergency but when we come baxk to rehoboth beach we will plan on staying in a hotel instead, as there is no TVs either so again if you have kids that like Tv they will be disappointed. Again, beautiful place but not my cup of tea unless you're okay with a shed size cabin that you'll need to do your own cleaning in, very close to neighbors so don't be loud, and kinda ran down a bit. Could use a good bit of renovation IMO.
