Most beautiful lake in the trinity mountains. Best camp spot, best price. Bathrooms were rough but amazing wild life. Between moose and large deer roaming through camp at night it definitely is an experience.
Amazing lake to camp on, very serene and the camp spots are great .
Fantastic camping spot! The lakes are beautiful and it's fun to go around and see them all. Don't take forest road 129 unless you have both four wheel drive and really good clearance (think trucks and large SUVs only) as the road is washed out on a lot of the switchbacks with large rocks and boulders exposed. Also keep in mind that nearby Trinity peak is the highest point in Idaho accessible by vehicle and this draws a lot of ATVs and dirt bikes to the campgrounds.
Camp grounds are great very well maintained. That being said I mor than likely wont go out again unless they focus a bit of attention to the road out. Honestly with how well kept the grounds are you would think they would take a little better care of the road. Mosquitoes are a bit abundant so bring something for them a lot of something also if you use led lights and lanterns they dont attract bugs fun fact. Would recomend but if you care about your truck or car I would rent a car or drive something that you dont mind a rough and I mean rough road. There were times i was doing maybe 5 mph but if you go up to the lookout at sunset the view is amazing
Vault toilet was well maintained, campground was clean. Only two occupants at the time, definitely not busy season! The lake and night sky were beautiful.
