This is a great alternative to camping inside Big Bend if you just need a spot for the night with a toilet and a gas burner to be there already. Small covered spots allow for a hammoc or tents and a bit of shade. Its a paved road up to the spot then a dirt grit area. No problem for my 2014 Valkyrie. Google satelite images are out of date so does not show accuratly. But my pics show the sign which comes up on your right. If the road turns to dirt you went too far. It is eerily quiet at night with occasional coyotes howling in the distance. Pricing varies but way better than in park costs. Other guests are about 40 to 60ft apart so be ready to have people nearby. Hot as Hell durring the day, perfect from sundown to midnight but then drops in temp and holds at 2a.m so pack a 3 to 4 season sleeping bag or you might wake up cold suddenly. Because addresses can be seen as an entire property line and right of way, it may throw off the address a bit on any maps program. So go by my pic and the owners directions. Town of Telingua is not far down down the main road and you can get a shower at the RV and Hotel by the main gas station. $2 for 6min. Bring quarters for the shower. Not much else to say. Was perfect for me by myself. Could make calls and basic text on my T-Mobile 5G Z Flip but if you need internet, coverage is found in Telingua. South of there is Big Bend entrance.
First time out here and all I can say was amazing. True camping at it's most primitive point. The sites as sundown happens and sunrise begins are just breath taking.
Ron and Lisa are great hosts. They're very accommodating and kind. Although it is primitive camping, you'll have access to clean showers and restrooms just up the road. If you're looking for a nice spot to rest up with a great view, this is a great choice.
Nice little area for camping. Was able to get 1 bar of service to make a call.
I don't recommend this campground toanyone. First of all it's middel of nowhere it's not a safe place and there's not any basic facilities. Secondly the price is very high ($ 30.00 a night). Campgroud up the road (three miles) with full facilities is $30.00 a night.
