Customer Reviews
Plus: wonderful location, great services, lots of kayaks and canoes for guests using for free during the stay, just make sure you grab the safety kit from the office. They also have scheduled activities for everyone. Minus: the bed is uncomfortable, the floor is dirty even though we’re not allowed to check in before 4:00 PM due to the reason that they need time to clean up. Some guests bring dogs to the beach even though it stated not allowed, smoked marijuana among the children, invading someone spot without asking. I guessed some of this depends on the guest’s behaviour. Given the thought that the new owner is still need more time to work on the cottage, we will comeback to support.
We passed by to enjoy Baptist lake on our way to pick up kids at camp. Needs a serious renovation plan to bring this to current clientele expectations.
Our family has been coming here for over 20 years. Two weddings and every July. With the owners retiring and new owners taking over, we wondered would it be the same? Absolutely and even better. The new owners are local and ready to keep the passion for what truly is the best possible family summer vacation. In fact everyone at Birchcliff, old and new could only focus on making sure we were happy and enjoying ourselves. Bent over backwards for us. They always help make a real cottage experience Casual, Rustic and everything you want for family fun. Incredible Baptiste Lake with great fishing and 34 kms of connected water on the edge of Algonquin Park and a great sandy swimming beach right at Birchcliff. The campfire pits had the firewood ready to go. Kids quickly get to renew old friendships, the kids programs break the ice and there is always ice cream and candy at the store. The diving rocks with a height for everyone, are a must do each year. Potluck dinner, Corn Roast, Guitars around the fire and Uchre tourneys are where the adults hang out at night. If you’ve never been, you are missing something special. For us, we could not be happier that the new owners are not only continuing our tradition, but also making sure it continues for the future.
Place is amazing. Enjoyed every min. Owners are awesome definitely recommend to everyone.
We stop by for a day trip on Sunday, it’s amazing place, it’s rustic, old charm. There were not too many people around, they let us to use picnic area which is usually reserved for lodge guests, was nice from management and thank you. We did not stay there overnight, but Baptise lake is one of best lakes in East Highland area. The lodge is well organised and clean. We were not sure if restaurants is open or not. If you are in Bancroft area you may want to stop by.
