Bird's Nest Lodge

The owner did great accommodating when there was an issue double booking. He was incredibly nice and answered my questions quickly! The place we stayed slept 24 so it was great for large groups! Great location and it had great parking. Plenty of towels and blankets. The place was very spacious.

Stayed here for a weekend with my family and had a fantastic time! Our cabin was fantastic, clean, with a beautiful view of the river. The staff was super response to any needs I had and very friendly. My favorite thing was getting on the river and how easy shuttle was. It was so great to come off after a long day on the river and go straight back to my cabin for food, I didn't need to wait for a shuttle or worry about unloading boats they did it all for us! The Meramec was beautiful and the big windows allowed it to be enjoyed by my whole family. One night the kids even sat around the campfire, not looking at their phones! Can't wait to come back!

Booked a cabin that sleeps 15-18 people. Were told we have to have a minimum of 15 people to book, so we went out of our way to get at least 15 people together. After paying in full ($2,100) the next day got a call that they “upgraded us to a bigger and better cabin” great! Except they lied. The 15 of us drove 4+ hours to stay here only to arrive to a cabin with 4 beds, when our original booking was at least 8 beds. How is that bigger? People in our party slept on the hardwood floor and in their cars. When we brought it to management’s attention, they tried avoiding us, told us there was nothing that they could do, cause these cabins have been booked for months, which means they took our payment fully knowing that the cabin we were paying for was already booked. They also promised a full service kitchen, air conditioning, a hot tub, & the cabin to be private, none of which was included in our cabin, ALL of which we paid for. We were told they’d comp us a raft for the confusion (I wouldn’t call it confusion, as they knew exactly what they were doing when they were stealing from us) but still have seen no refund for the raft. Avoid booking here at all cost. I wouldn’t be upset if they had done ANYTHING to make it better, but we were just told “there’s nothing they can do” we are taking legal action but until then, I hope this review steers some people in another direction. Absolute scam.

We've been floating with Bird's Nest for years. Jason and Bridget are some of the kindest, most helpful people we've encountered. We can't hack it in tents anymore but Jason let us know which of the local cabins they work with. They came right to our door and picked us up. There's not a better float our there. We won't float with any other company. That being said, the campsites they do have are not on the water so that's something to consider if you tent camp.

I had a wonderful time at bird's nest lodge! I was able to just bring my stuff and go. Everything was set up for us - the cabin and hot tub, kitchen, and access to the river. The view from the cabin is impeccable - it is a wonderful location. All we had to do was sign up for a float time and the bus took is right up the river to start floating. Unfortunately, it started raining about 1/2 down the river. The staff was so organized, all we had to do was call them, tell them our location, and they picked us right up within 30 minutes. Even with rain, I had a wonderful time and felt right at home. I would recommend this destination to ANYONE who wants to have an outdoor experience With the freedom to camp, stay in a cabin, or bring their camper/RV! Stay wet, my friends.
