We understand that a great camping experience involves more than just a place to stay; it's about the connection to nature, the convenience of amenities, and the joy of creating lasting memories with family and friends. Bison Lane RV Campground, nestled within the expansive Platte River State Park system, provides all this and more. While some administrative aspects, like state park passes, are part of the experience, the overall value and access to outdoor activities make it a highly desirable choice for Nebraskans. Let's explore what makes this local campground an excellent option for your next outdoor escape.
Bison Lane RV Campground is located at 14421 346th St, Louisville, NE 68037, USA. Its prime location within the Platte River State Park is a significant advantage, offering campers immediate access to the park's extensive network of trails and natural beauty. Louisville, a charming town in Cass County, provides a convenient base with easy access from major roadways, making the campground readily reachable from Omaha, Lincoln, and other parts of eastern Nebraska.
One of the most praised aspects of its location is the direct connection to the Platte River State Park bike trails, which are a highlight for many visitors, whether they've been familiar with them for years or are discovering them for the first time. This accessibility means you can step out of your campsite and immediately immerse yourself in hiking, biking, and exploring the scenic Platte River area. While being part of a state park system does mean additional fees (like a Nebraska State Parks pass, either daily or annual), many find the benefits of being within such a rich recreational area far outweigh this requirement. The proximity to nature, combined with straightforward access, makes Bison Lane RV Campground a highly attractive option for Nebraskans looking for a local outdoor escape.

Families will find the "great kids park" a significant draw, ensuring that children have plenty of opportunities for outdoor play. While the requirement for a Nebraska State Parks pass (daily or annual) is an important consideration for budgeting, many Nebraskans find this a worthwhile investment for the extensive access it provides to this and other state parks throughout the year.
Despite a review mentioning some challenges with staff regarding late fees and daily passes, the overall sentiment from many campers points to a positive experience, particularly regarding the facilities and the natural setting. We lived in Lincoln 25 years ago. We are excited to ride the Platte River State Park bike trails and see how they’ve changed! Friendly staff! Plenty of space between spots! Very good bathroom facilities with showers! Great kids park! Looking forward to hitting the Mt bike trails tomorrow!
The worst campground experience I have ever had! The staff is horrendous. The campground is far from just $35 a night. You also have to either pay $14 a day for a pass or buy the annual pass for $70. If you plan on extending your stay make sure you’re not a single minute late or they will make sure to charge you a late fee and be extremely rude about it.
Nice place, level pads, spacious, mostly back in sights, full hook-ups. Plenty to do for all ages.
Nice level paved full hook up spots with good water pressure. Small playground on site and other very nice newer ones within walking distance in Platte River State Park.
Real good camp ground. Nice paved roads that are flat. Plenty of room for kids to ride bikes and play, as well as having your own fire pit. Small play ground with a slide for kids that is nicely situated for all camp sites to have in view.
