We ended up staying at this campground because the road to Sabrina lake was still closed. We enjoyed staying here it was not full, but we felt like we had plenty of privacy. The creek running through the campground is beautiful and it is running very high this year. We were told the area is known for great fishing, but we didn't have a chance to test that out this trip. The campground isn't connected to a trail system, so it does require a drive to get to a good hike.
Great campground along the creek with views of snow capped mountains. We stayed in early April for one night and there were plenty of sites available. Tucked away far enough from Bishop (15min drive) where you're surrounded by mountains and sky. Good amenities, each site had a fire ring with grill, picnic table plus water and clean restrooms. The Creek is beautiful and sounds of water were a plus. Definitely coming back.
Well maintained slice of heaven! The camp host was awesome! The creek is very close too! Clean and well kept with vault toilets. Not alot of shade but if you got a portable sunshade, it should be ok. Not to mention, if you do get too hot you got the creek to cool off in👌 Its first come first serve so no reservations needed. Fishing is better in the autumn but I've gotten a few bites from some stock trout during my summer trips. I simply love camping in the Sierra's! ❤
It’s a good place to camp. Sits about 6000 feet in elevation. Park staff comes every day to clean the bathroom. Their water from the well around the camp ground so that where you’ll wash hands or anything that needs a wash. The creek runs along the camp. No trees on the campsite so can get hot if stay in the tent or have no shade specially in the summertime. It does get warm as it’s one of the first side going up the mountain. Toilets are in ground so no water. No showers. But that’s camp life. Their bear boxes.
