Black Dog Acres RV Park

Travel/vacation for business. Booked a different campground that canceled our booking because our site was flooded-there was torrential rain as we started our trip. Found Black Dog on Google. Great reviews; spoke to one of the owners that we would be coming in later due to the weather. 30 min past our estimated arrival they were waiting at the entry office with warm greetings despite the weather and late arrival. Lead us to our site and walked us through their system of hookups. Really great people! Easy to get in easy to get out. Site was level and there are great views if it’s not Armageddon weather! That said, our site drained really well! Thanks for the accommodations!

We found this gem after Helene devastated the mountains and we had to cancel our current reservation. This campground opened in May 2024 and is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, clean and friendly. Sites are leveled and full hookups. They are planning of doing a bath house and add more sites. They have concerts/live music and food trucks. The owners live onsite and are the best. We loved our stay and will continue to come and recommend it to others. Thank you for making our stay special and memorable 💖

Just had our 1st trip here, and we will be back! Nice level sites with full hookup. Kids really enjoyed the playground. We understand this is a very new campground for which the family has future plans so we know little things like grass growing in over time and working on making the pond more accessible will only get better. Visited Mt Airy on Saturday, cute town, cute shops and good food. Definitely reccomend this family owned campground!

This family run RV Park has exceeded my expectations! They plan activities for every holiday, and I was so touched to see they had a site sign celebrating someone's birthday!! It is such a great location for hiking , and visiting 'Mayberry' Mt Airy, and Mt. Pilot view was amazing!! I look forward to coming back and experiencing all the additional plans they have for this family oriented RV Park!!

We were privileged to stay at Black Dog Acres July 10-13. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with kindness and actually felt like the owners were excited that we were there. After you check in, they take you back to your sight, show you their water system and give you a few more details, and then leave you to it. The Park is new, so there is not a lot of shade; but that cannot be held up as a negative. They have taken time to plan out their sites and have made them spacious. The owners grew up camping and have taken their experiences good and bad and put together a great park to camp at. It is definitely on our list of places to visit again, especially since we have good friends in the area we like to visit. I would highly recommend Black Dog Acres to anyone looking for a country setting, that is quiet and relaxed; but still close enough to state parks, restaurants, and shopping needs. Thanks for a wonderful time!
