Black Elk Resort

Black Elk Resort Rapid City South Dakota We spent 4 nights,August 2024, at Black Elk Resort meeting up with friends. Great location 10 minutes away from Keystone. After site seeing during the day it was great to come back here and visit their tap room for local beers, wine & food if we were still hungry and then sit by the nightly fire. We used the full hookups with our class B travel van. The restrooms and showers at Black Elk Resort are beautiful,very clean and much larger than the shower in our Van so we used them nightly! They also have a laundry room. Bring your quarters. They also have many cute cabins. We will be staying here on our next trip to South Dakota and Custer State Park!

Perfect central location to all the sites to see. We stayed in the tatonka cabin and it did not disappoint! The cabin had cute little touches and was spotless (I am very picky). The resort starts a fire every night that is wonderful to sit around and meet other guests. We really loved the giant connect four board after we were done with the day’s adventures. They also have a little pub on site that looked very nice. They seem to have full occupancy most of the time and it’s apparent why. So glad I read the exceptional reviews. Great trip 👍

We had a wonderful stay in their campground over Memorial weekend! The owners and workers were very accommodating and took care of every need not only for us, but for all occupants of the cabins and campers. The grounds are immaculate and so beautiful! The Palmer Creek Tap room was a highlight for us! It is very cozy and inviting and a great way to visit with fellow campers, or just to stop in and grab your favorite beverage, and some wonderful pizza! They had a roaring fire in their fire pit every night, which again, made the experience just exceptional. The location is perfect for sight seeing, hiking and dining. This will be a definite go to for us in the Hills!!!

Wow where do I begin. I went on a trip with my family and was absolutely disrespected from the staff. There was 10 adults and 3 child’s including 1 new born and one service dog. On the morning after arrival we were interrupted by the staff as they had said we had more than 13 people which was completely wrong. They called us and claimed we had more than 13 people and did not have a service dog and commanded that we leave the place immediately. We called them and asked that they count all guests as we did not lie at all. They left the resort and refused to meet with us. I recommend absolutely avoid this resort. The disrespect that was shown was absolutely appalling. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

We have stayed at Black Elk Resort 5 or 6 times in the past and have always looked forward to coming back again. Location is great service is at it's finest. Would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
