Black Hawk Creek RV Park & Cabins

We arrived to Mt Rushmore but because of the fog we decided to stay at a nearby RV spot; I called Black Hawk Creek and Shawna answered my call; Shawna is a sweet person and arranged our short notice reservation through the phone. Once we arrived to the park it wasn’t long before Shawna came to greet us; she also taught us how to use the water and electric hookups. The park is quite large and has its own bathhouse with hot water and heater. The experience was pleasant and I definitely recommend staying here whether you have an RV or not.

We stayed at Black Hawk Creek RV Park for 3 months during my travel assignment at the hospital in Rapid City. They did several improvements to the campground during our stay including adding a large dog run and improving the road. We had plenty of room at our site. It was quiet at night, even during Sturgis. The campground location is convenient to I-90 and Rapid City. We easily received packages at the office. Best of all, the staff at the campground were phenomenal. They were always friendly and quick to respond to any questions or concerns. I highly recommend this campground for anyone looking for a quick or a long-term stay.

Other than a few stickers the dogs picked up and the main road getting down to the park being terribly bumpy and full of potholes (not fault of the owner of course), this is an amazing place to stay. Very quite, well laid out, spacious, accommodating to all sizes of campers and very nice and welcoming owners. Highly recommend. If you get site 100, make sure to look up the hill at the house at night, it looks like eyes peeking down. Kinda cool!

Stayed in site #38 for almost a week visiting family. Very nice setting about 1 mile off the interstate. Very easy access to all of the Hills. Chris was very accommodating because of having to add a night at the end, because of possible bad weather traveling home up through Montana. We have Verizon and had a great signal for streaming and talking. Will stay here whenever we come back to visit Mom.

Blackhawk Creek RV Park is a great RV Park. The owner and all staff are professional, helpful and very friendly. The location is beautiful and you can enjoy awesome sunrises and sunsets. The spaces are spread out and staggered so you do not feel that you are on top of your neighbors. There were upgrades during our 3 month stay this summer and the owner shared many new planned upgrades. We will definitely be back next year!

Minutes from Rapid City and hwy 90. Friendly staff in a busy RV park with ongoing upgrades. Dog friendly must be leashed. Clean facilities but only 1 shower house. Seems most use their own RV as I have never run into anyone in bathouse. I would stay again

We were pleasantly surprised by this campground. Our site was peaceful and the scenery was beautiful. We especially enjoyed listening to the nearby cows and other nature sounds. A much needed respite near the end of a long road trip journey.
