Promotional Information:
Black Kettle Campground in Crawford, OK, offers free, rustic camping on National Grassland. Features include a boat ramp, picnic tables, vault toilets, and hiking trails. Ideal for tent camping and those seeking a quiet, natural experience. RV camping is possible but less structured. There's a boat landing, sure power, rest rooms, two sides to camp on, and camping is 14 days free. Pulled in here for a quick overnight and spent the morning doing some hiking. Free camping on National Grassland. Several picnic tables, some with rock fire rings, spread around the edge of a small lake. There's also a concrete boat ramp and associated parking for vehicles with trailers. Typical vault toilets are available as well. Hike the dam, along the north side of the lake and two short trails that branch off from the end of the road near the head of the lake. For RV or van campers... this is not a typical campground with numbered pull through or back in sites. There are numerous wide areas to parallel park along the paved park road, and a loop area that is set up with parking stalls, but no place where you can park a camper next to your own picnic table and fire ring. All that said, it's really better suited to tent camping and feels more like a picnic area. The area was quiet, clean and tidy. Signage seems to indicate camping in all areas is allowed, provided you do not drive on the grass (there are dozens of signs along the roads so clearly it's been an issue in the past).

The area was clean and looked freshly mowed, the restrooms were a little dirty, just simple vault toilets no showers. Pet friendly but keep on a leash. Great picnic tables, and plenty of grassy area for a tent. We van life and stayed overnight (but max stay is 14 days) minimal parking. Free.
Overall a great spot to take family and friends and get out of town for a little bit. They have grill stations, an in ground fire pit, and a dock that you can fish off of pretty well. Caught lots of stripers !
I stayed 2 weeks and it was beautiful. Quiet and peaceful. Fisherman going in and out all day and part of the night but we're not loud. Park Rangers through the park every day. No water at the time I was there. Did not use the restroom but they have them. I would definitely stay here again.
