I booked site#4 because that was the only one available for my dates. My suggestion would be to book site#1 or site#3. The lake is not at the campsites, you need to go by car 1-2min drive. Very remote campsite but it is overall nice. Bathrooms were fine and for each site they have 2 bathrooms. Because of the wildfires in last few years you don’t see many trees. The site#4 was confusing to us because it has 2 sections one for fire grill/ pits and other for tent.
Group site 2 does have 2 vault toilet bathrooms right at the site. Wish there was a road/path to the water from the Campsite. But there's a nice pull out on the far side of the dam from the boat launch that has a nice beach. Water is so clear and warm! Wish the water spiggots had more pressure and a hose fitting so we could have filled our trailer water tank up.
We camped here on 08/04/2018 at unit 4. Its a pretty big campsite with ample space to park 8 cars. The toilets were clean and not smelly. Although there were less trees near the grill and fire pit area, but at night we had an amazing view of the sky 🌌 Could clearly see the Milky Way right from our campsite. There’s also a 15 minute hike to a beautiful lake. We had so much fun here. Best for big groups.
Such a beautiful peaceful place! Could see the lake from the camp site but you drive about 3 minutes to the lake, best to plan to be out there for awhile. There are bears but we had children and were perfectly comfortable.
Honestly this campsite was perfect for what we needed! A big open space for a lot of tents, and everyone was able to spread out enough and have space. Plenty of grills and tables to have a big camp style breakfast together or separate. The dirt is very fine, so it gets dusty but hey don't go into the woods if you aren't ok with dirt!! Only downside was you have to drive to the water(can't very well bushwhack a trail with littles!) But even that was only like 5 min!
