I went to this site way back in 2010, it’s remote for sure. The road in was kind of washed out along the switchbacks. The site was empty, quiet, the pit toilets clean and with seats. There’s no services but the creek is nice and the scenery beautiful. Picnic tables and fire rings present.

Located on the historic Ponderosa Way through the Sierra foothills, this campground and swimming hole is the ultimate get away from everything. No cell signal, no paved roads, bring your own water and food. Slow down and in the summer, take a swim.

Great campground in the Ishi Wilderness. Roads are dirt but don't need high clearance to get to Black Rock. Great place to get away and swim during the summer.

Awesome and fun dirty road on the way in . No reservation Necessary! I just pulled up and camped two nights it was cool! I’m a lone female traveler and I felt safe and relaxed the whole time. Also I left my fishing pole at the camp ground feel free to used it and hopefully you will leave it for the next person to used it too lol

It's okay in my opinion. The highlight is the swimming pool and a small waterfall. The sites themselves are mostly small and not set up well for campers to make their camp. Small and a lot of sloping ground . The road in was an adventure in my low profile car. Took a while. It's a long dirt road. It's pretty rough and narrow in areas with steep mountainsides. Drive with caution.
