My family and I enjoy staying at Blackhawk. Clear Lake is great for kayaking, the pool is well kept and clean. There are food trucks and various activities each weekend like movie nights with free popcorn, and candy bingo. There is also ping pong, air hockey, and foosball games in the activity center that our kids spend hours playing.
We had a very eventful weekend with having to not get any sleep the first night because the people across from us were screaming, playing music until 4am,and smashing beer bottles in the fire pit and having there dog run around barking all night! Then the following day i did go to the office and they spoke with the people and asked them to leave, also that day my family and i went down to the pool and basketball court and my son ended up spraining his ankle and we ended up having to leave (sat) to go to the hospital for that so we ended not coming back until Sunday to gather our belongings to find our brand new cooler gone, our underwater camera gone and our tent sliced all up (unrepairable)! At that time I immediately went back down to the office filled a report with the manger on and also called the police and they came out and took pictures and said they were going to do an investigation and make a report. At that time the manager said that I would be refunded for the weekend and also an insurance company/corporate would be reaching out to me and I called over 25 times and have yet to get any kind of solution.
40 foot 5th wheel. Full time family I would describe this as a trailer park with some RV spots. Lots of annuals which is not a bad thing but does have a different feel to it than a more traditional RV park with a more transient crowd. Pros: -Very nice fishing pier -Bathrooms and showers were nice - Nice playground - Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had to move sites because we couldn’t get our rig level. They were very helpful. Cons: -Lodge didn’t seem open or usable. Kind of looked like storage. - Garage seemed to be a major issue. They dumpsters were overflowing for most of our stay. - Our site was a sloppy mess and was mostly mud. We had a little lake in front of our site. The campus couldn’t control this obviously but still affected our stay. - I wouldn’t walk my dog around in the annual sites. Encountered quite a few off leash or unattended dogs outside.
We stayed in a cabin. Their computer glitched without their knowledge and they ended up putting us in a cabin that wasn’t ready. So things weren’t that clean. There was a TV but we had a hard time getting it to work. The WiFi worked. The pool heater was broken also, that was something we were looking forward to. However the grounds worker went above and beyond to make sure that everything went right. He switched the propane tanks so our stove worked. He checked the cabin over to make sure things worked. Another worker stopped by and made sure we had fresh towels. He gave us free dry wood. Unfortunately we had to leave early because of severe weather moving in. Overall, we felt very welcome and would camp here again.
They overall experience for this place was pretty good. We stayed in a very nice cabin that was right next to the pool, which was nice, but unfortunately, it wasn't really the cleanest inside, and the beds were awful ( I see what all the reviews were talking about for the beds). 3 lakes to pick from if you like fishing, swimming, or going out on a boat. Golf carts are pretty decent priced, and just about every campsite has one. They have cool events that go on every few hours if you want extra things to do.
