The campsites have all been upgraded with pea gravel, and a few are fully paved. Every site has a new power pedestal and sewer hookup, which is rare for a state park campground. The only negative is that they lost a lot of tree cover due to hurricane Michael and there is very little shade. It will take some time for the newly planted trees to mature. The water in the Blue Hole spring is also not blue, but brown. Maybe another effect of Michael. It is refreshing though, especially when the heat index was over 100 degrees during our stay. Definitely make time for the cave tour!
Super nice campground with one very clean bathhouse. The camp has just enough sites to make it cozy even if it's full. Nearby there is a nice swimming hole with a picnic gazebo. Will be back.!!
Sites clean but open, you see all your neighbors. Bathrooms clean. Sites level with gravel. Water and sewer. Grass around which I think helps keep the mosquitoes away which are prevalent on the trails this time of year. Paved road in the loop. You still see damage from the 2018 hurricane Michael in the forest. Husband says the cavern is well worth the visit and one of the best caves he has been in.
The campsides are great. Large gravel pads (ideal for tents) with full hookups and a bit of shade. The blue hole is just a short walk away. Unfortunately the restrooms were in terrible condition for the two nights we stayed in. They seem to be restocked regularly but rarely cleaned and the AC is down. During out stay they were infested with mosquitoes and spiders. The blue hole is very refreshing even if is brown. I would not recommend the river trail and the sinkhole trail : lots of mosquitoes and not much to see.
Great campground, full hookups and leveled spots. Clean bath house and washer and dryer! The place is clean and quiet.
