The river is absolutely beautiful. We go for the great trout fishing between November until the end of March. Very easy access. It's not just a short drive, so prepare for that.
One of our favorite places! It's gorgeous 😍 BUT just a heads up, you will NEED to HAVE water shoes. You are walking on rocks in the water. BIG ROCKS. You can see the rocks for the most part but just be prepared. The rope swings are a blast too!
Ohhh my goodness, I mean Mother Nature is beautiful, she truly loves and cares for this place. Just the silence, or maybe nature, the river is gorgeous, and for Oklahoma, I was sooo impressed. I love it here, and will be going back!!
I’ve been in Oklahoma almost 40 years and had never heard of Blue River. Granted, if it were advertised and promoted it would lose its unique charm and beauty, as this is primitive beauty. Warning: this area is dirt roads and natural ruts/washouts caused by erosion. Easily accessible with small SUV but I wouldn’t advise low clearance vehicles. That being said, if you enjoy nature’s beauty, you’ll be glad you visited.
Great place to swim , as long as your close to the campsites. Just have to be careful if you wandered into the forest.
