Bluegreen Vacations Christmas Mountain Village, an Ascend Resort

I had a very frustrating experience during my recent stay. Security came by at 9 PM and woke up my entire family, which was incredibly disruptive. To make matters worse, they insisted that my parents move our vehicle across the facility, adding unnecessary stress to our evening. What made this situation even more concerning was that my mother, who walks with a cane, had to navigate her way back to our cabin in the dark. This lack of consideration for guests' comfort and safety is unacceptable. It’s disappointing to see such poor management. I hope they can improve their approach in the future to ensure that guests can enjoy their stay without being disturbed or put in dangerous situations. We were told by security that we should have been informed on check-in that we could only have one vehicle. We came from out of state for our vacation and were not informed of this at any time. Additionally, we were charged an extra $60 in resort fees upon check-in, despite having paid everything in advance. This lack of transparency regarding fees is frustrating and feels misleading. I do not recommend staying here.

I went with my girlfriends to rent one of their cottages which had one king bed and two twin beds, only to find someone else's barf on the side of the bed that I was going to be sleeping in. I went to take off the covers of the bed because they were touching the dried chunks of puke and I found a large multitude of long black hairs. This was before a single one of us had laid in a bed. The sheets were smelly, the mattresses were stained, they had no fitted sheets and the flat sheet came off revealing a large brown stain on the mattress. We went to talk to the hotel manager and she would not give a refund to us but offered a $50 dollar credit (this was not used because if our room can be that dirty, I don't want to imagine how clean the kitchen of the restaurant is).

The only reason I am giving a one-star is because almost every worker we encountered had a terrible attitude. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous. A lot of money is paid on maintenance fees and to own these properties, which essentially goes into paying these employees to have a bad day and take it out on owners. Aly & the young skinny female with long thin blonde hair working the tubing desk as well as the tubing worker were just terrible. We won't be back to this property. The Starbucks attendant with a shaved head was very kind though. It made a difference.

Everyone is very nice. The cabin we stayed in is spacious and well equipped. Everything that you would want to do is on-site, even a restaurant. Very relaxing, you don't have to do alot of running around for activities. I highly recommend.

We booked Christmas village on a promo from cabelas. Cons: The rooms are mediocre clean. There’s tons of crumbs on the floor, some sort of food on the fireplace windows and food all over the stove. The fireplace works about half the time. Hard to relax when it keeps flickering on and off. The presentation lasted three hours instead of two. And they would not take no for an answer. Pros: we asked for a high chair and a pack and play and they were promptly delivered. Off season so it was quiet.
