Don't just take our word for it—here's what some of our satisfied guests have to say:

  • "This is our home away from home. It's our weekend get-away. They aren't open to the public, but if you know anyone from the seasonal campers, for sure you will get a spot except on holiday weekends."
  • "Memorial Weekend 2016 - Despite the poor reviews on the park, owners and seasonal, my family of 4 had a very nice stay. The weather was breezy and a bit of rain on one day, but the view of the lake was breathtaking. If you have a fur baby (we have a chug), they are very dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us."
  • "We had our 16-year-old daughter and friend that was entertained the whole stay. With the beach, pool, and exploring the train tunnel, they had fun. Lots to do around the park too! Water play (we have kayaks), hikes, off-road play (lots out there!), and a great drive with lots of stops to look at the dams and falls. The 'seasonal' were very helpful in letting us know what is around and can't wait to go back. Booking today for the 4th of July week! See you soon!!"

We just spent the last weekend at this campground and it was one of the worst camping weekends we have ever had. Started off seeing management fighting with another weekend guest about needing to move out of their spot that was interfering with a seasonal guest and then letting us know that the pool was broken. When I discussed with owner that I called 2 days before coming up and the manager did not advise me of this. The owner proceeded to talk down to me as if it was not his problem since they claimed to tell us that the pool may or may not be functional when making our reservations. (This could have been handled much more professionally by just apologizing for the inconvenience.) When we checked in we made if clear it was our first visit. No information on where dumpsters/trash facilities, bathrooms, swimming area, etc. We were left on our own, only to find out on day two we were hooked up to a non sewer line. (Per management the campers that were there the weekend before did the same thing with their sewer line, which would explain the foul odor all weekend.) The playground for kids is a very old wooden structure clearly dated 1990, and not safe for children. There is a small play house with broken pieces and full of debris. To make it worse they rent out most of the sites to seasonal guest and they all make you feel like an outsider trying to play in there yard. So if you are looking for a campground with bad owners/managers, dirty campground and nothing really for your kids to do. You have found your place.

Everything started out fine. They stated they were dog friendly...dogs bark, right? Well, we received notice that there was a complaint about our dogs barking too early. Ok, we apologized for the inconvenience and changed the way we put our dogs out in the morning. The next day, we are sitting at our campsite and my mom receives a call from the owner asking her and another guest to come see her because she wanted to talk to them. The other guest and I take time out of our vacation and go to the little store there to see what she needed. We stood in the store area for a good 5 minutes and she couldn't be located. So, we went back to our campsite to enjoy our day. About 3 minutes later she comes over to our campsite and tells us that our dogs have made it uncomfortable for people and they demanded their money back and she doesn't want to be the bad guy and ask us to leave but she will if she has to. She proceeds to say that her kids are afraid of her because she can be the bad guy. We sat there in shock for a minute.. My dad got so mad he went into the cabin and packed our things up. We had paid for 3 nights and only got to enjoy 2 because the owner came to our campsite and threatened us. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone if they are trying to enjoy themselves. It was a horrible experience.

This small resort is a piece of heaven! Showers, power, river views, grass, skinny boat launch and sunsets. No internet but hey don't you go camping to get away from all that? The owner, Tracie, went beyond the call to make us comfortable! Not only that, her personally is a hoot. I didn't want to leave but someone had a golf date?
