Bluewater Bay Campground Introduce

Welcome to Bluewater Bay Campground, located in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, USA. As part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, Bluewater Bay Campground offers a camping experience with scenic views and spacious sites.

Bluewater Bay Campground is appreciated for its natural beauty and spacious campsites, making it a suitable destination for tent campers. According to customer reviews, the campground provides easy access, nice trails, and great views. The campsites are spacious, offering ample room between sites, and the absence of cars on the internal roads enhances the peaceful atmosphere. Lit carts are provided for transporting gear, adding convenience for campers. The staff is consistently described as friendly, contributing to a positive experience. However, there are several concerns regarding the campground's facilities. The toilet pits are reported to need maintenance, and while some water fountains are functional, others in common areas like the beach and pier are disconnected. A significant issue is the closure of flush toilets and showers for the season, which detracts from the overall comfort. The water quality for swimming is described as poor, with reviewers advising against swimming. Despite these facility issues, the campsites themselves are large, flat, and equipped with fire pits and grates, which are appreciated by campers. Potential visitors should weigh the scenic beauty and spacious sites against the reported facility maintenance issues.

Here are some key features and considerations:

  • Spacious Campsites: Ample space between sites.
  • Scenic Views: Beautiful views from the campground.
  • Hiking Trails: Nice trails for hiking.
  • Friendly Staff: Staff is described as friendly.
  • Lit Carts: Provided for transporting gear.
  • Toilet Pit Issues: Toilet pits need maintenance.
  • Disconnected Water Fountains: Some water fountains are disconnected.
  • Closed Facilities: Flush toilets and showers were closed during the visit.
  • Poor Water Quality: Water quality is not suitable for swimming.
  • Fire Pits and Grates: Campsites have fire pits with grates.
  • Location: Situated in Reedsburg, WI, providing nature camping.

Bluewater Bay Campground offers spacious campsites and scenic views, making it appealing for tent campers. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported facility maintenance issues, including the toilet pits, disconnected water fountains, and closed flush toilets/showers. If you prioritize spacious sites and scenic views and are willing to tolerate these facility issues, Bluewater Bay Campground might be suitable. But if well-maintained facilities are a top priority, you may want to consider alternative locations.

We had a wonderful experience, 6 of us, 4 tents. A clean campsite, enough space between sites. Pros: Easy access, nice trails, great views, plenty of space between sites, no car on the "internal roads" but lit carts to transport things, and friendly staff. Cons: The toilet pits need maintenance, and while the water fountain next to our site worked well, the ones in common areas like the beach and pier were disconnected.

It would have been a higher rating if the flush toilets and showers had been repaired before our visit instead of closed for the season. I do not recommend swimming as the water is just nasty. But the campsites are large and flat. They have a firepit with a grate which is nice.

Nice campground with fairly clean showers. Proximity to the highway is the only drawback - constant highway noise. With so many businesses/attractions around, this place would greatly benefit from highway sound barriers.

Nice place to camp, dogs allowed. Just kind of rocky, and know that there are a couple birds in the area that are quite noisy.

Campsites are large. Strictly non-electric "to keep it quiet and peaceful," however they had a Kubota tractor running at 9am and you can still hear the highway traffic. The bathrooms are also terrible. No soap in the restrooms and the showers are the type you have to push a button continuously for water to come out. The showers are nearly impossible to use if you have long hair.
