Surrounded by breathtaking rock cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and a small cave, this campground is a haven for nature enthusiasts and backpack campers alike. The natural beauty of the area is complemented by the intriguing rock formations, including one that resembles a frog guarding the cave entrance.
Bluffs Campground provides a primitive camping experience, allowing visitors to connect with nature in its purest form. Beautiful spot. Lots of rock cliff overhangs with waterfalls and a small cave at the campsite. There is a rock just above the cave that looks like a frog guarding the entrance. I would recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys backpack camping.
Spent a week or so there and was of the most insightful environment. Beautiful. Maybe I was born 20,000 years to late, I loved feeling like a Neanderthal cave dude. I learned to make friends with the spiders, also if planning on cooking, bring a stove, the wood is very damp due to little sunlight penetration and frequent rain. Also, feel free to pay a respectful visit a small graveyard close by to this campground.
The Bluffs is a nice, remote backcountry site. There's a nice "campground" style firepit, a nice flat tent pad and a couple decent hammock spots. There's plenty to explore directly around the site, and a waterfall just around the corner from it. The last .3 mile to it is a somewhat technical decent which means the way out requires a fairly aggressive hike accent.
This was an easy hike, though there were some blow downs along the way. My dog Charlie and I had a great time!
Backcountry undeveloped site, beautiful view, good camping site for tent campers or hammock campers. Nearby stream provides access to fresh filterable water. Please take note This is not a developed campsite It is a fire pit in the middle of the woods with a single tent area sectioned off with 4x4 posts. There is a steep hike to get in, and a steep hike to get out. No electrical, running water, bathrooms, or trash pickup is available at this site.
