We were running around, looking for bait and supplies when we found this state park. The park manager and his team were having a Storm safety briefing when we arrived. The park manager advised us to stay for the night because the upcoming storm Helene had changed directions and was headed our way. They brought us a case of water and snack foods to get us through the night. They checked on us periodically through the evening and in the morning they moved a tree so we could safely exit the park. These guys are top notch professionals. Thank you for letting us stay there safely…

I like bringing my dog out there, he loves to lead me across the bridge and I love to sit in one of the 2 porch swings and take in the lake from atop the hill... even though the lake was WAAAAY down that day.

This campground is the most amazing. The place, location, bathroom, and spot #8 . The view to the lake is so quiet and relax. The host really helpful and friendly.

I had a Saturday night free, so I decided to check out this park since I’ve been to most of the other state parks in the area. The campground itself was good for the night. The campsites were close but everyone was very respectful of eachother’s space. Overall, the bathrooms were very clean, and the area I could use was nice. However, one star off for lack of communication and a weird experience with the host. I booked over the phone for one night because the website was down. I was not informed that the day use was closed all afternoon for a private event on the day I would be there. I only discovered this when I arrived. I likely would’ve booked elsewhere or come later had I know it would have been closed. Also, after it was dark, a lady approached my site and just watched me for a little while before asking, “Whatcha doing? Are you parked there for the night?” I responded that I was and had a reservation for the night (not knowing who this person was and a little creeped out). Then she said she remembered putting the tag on, and she left. That’s when I assumed it was the host and saw her going back to the host RV. It was just a very odd interaction and off-putting/alarming since I was camping solo, it was dark, and didn’t know who that person was. The whole situation could have been remedied by her just beginning the interaction by introducing herself. Otherwise, I had an enjoyable time! The weather was beautiful. I might give this campground another go (but stay on the Savannah side), but there are several more in the area I’ve had wonderful camping weekends at!

We drove 9 hours to stay here with family for Mother’s Day weekend and stayed in one of the yurts. We had a great time! Everything was so clean and beautiful. The yurt was spotless. The bathrooms and showers were also. Every time I went to use them it looked and smelled like they were just cleaned. They furnished the toilet paper but you have to bring everything you need for showers. We visited with family in the rv area a lot and it was also really nice. We’re in the process of planning a longer trip up there.

This particular park has been on our bucket list for almost 20 years. After losing our fur child a while back, we decided now was the time for some inner peace and talking to Jesus through nature's tranquility. Our stay in the Yurt has been just what we expected and all we need right now. They're very clean with comfortable beds and the bathhouse is as well. Looking forward to some fishing tomorrow in the beautiful lake.
