This is a free campground in Lassen National Forest — Eagle Lake Ranger District. It is accessed via a dirt road and is about 2 miles to the nearest paved road. High clearance vehicle recommended but not necessary. 4WD not necessary. There is a vault toilet, hand pumped water, fire rings, and space for 1-2 cars per campsite. The site sits at 5600’ elevation and is likely not accessible during winter months. It was very clean and not crowded. Easy access to nearby trails. Please keep this campground clean by leaving no trace. Please observe any burn bans to prevent wildfires.

It's a lovely unkept campground nestled in the pines and aspens. 9 campsites and 4 horse sites. We came in with a self contained trailer. The bathroom is a vault. They have little air fresheners in them. USFS does not stop by too often. Bring your own tp. There is a water hand pump. You just about have to be Arnold Schwarzenegger STRONG to get it to pump water. Bring your own water. You can fill water jugs at the Bogard Rest Area. We did love our time while we were there. There is lots to explore in the area. It's beautiful.

One of our favorites! Water table is way low though so they hand pump was only able to produce a couple gallons per day. Fortunately we had plenty and were able to share with a couple of others.
