It would of been a more enjoyable camp for me if there were more shade to cover us from the sun. Also there has been many complaints about the showers not working for years. It's still the same showers don't work so bring a bucket and find a spot to rinse your self. Never camping again in the summer again it was extremely hot and there are not alot of trees for shade here at boulder gulch. One more thing the water at the lake was smelly alot of broken glass wear proper foot protection.
Showers don't work for 8 years now. No use of firepits. Far from sequoia national park.
Was stuck there for about 4 hours trying to to get home to kernville when a fire broke out. It was hot but not a bad place to be. Caught big wild rainbow in the cove. Water high in lake.
We like to visit here for the the last 5 years and every time we have a different experience..Every body is nice, the Lake Isabella is beautiful I would totally recommend this place to enjoy it with the family
Stayed two weeks. We weren't told that being handicap we could get a half price discount. It was pretty clean and relaxing. The fishing was great and the swimming was refreshing. We saved on gas by not driving our rig around but used the bus, there's is a bus stop across the road in front of Hungry Gulch! This has been one of our favorite places for many years. I myself have been coming to this lake for 53 years now!
