We visited Bow River Campground in the winter, and although it was closed for the season, it offered a truly breathtaking experience. The peaceful surroundings, untouched snow, and the stunning mountain peaks created a magical winter wonderland. The Bow River was frozen, adding to the serene beauty of the landscape. The sight of the icy river winding through the snow-covered valley, with towering mountains in the background, was simply mesmerizing. The crisp, fresh air and the stillness of the surroundings made for a truly peaceful and refreshing visit. Even though camping wasn’t an option, just being there to take in the beauty of the area was well worth the visit. If you’re in Canmore during the winter months, stopping by for a quiet moment in nature is highly recommended. It’s a peaceful escape and a perfect spot to appreciate the raw beauty of the Canadian Rockies.

Great location minutes outside of Canmore, but right off of the highway so traffic is loud. Our site was comfortable with a 26' trailer, but not much privacy between sites. The washrooms were out of soap and the men's hand dryer was broken during our 4 night stay, and there wasn't paper towel or hand sanitizer. The outhouse was clean and odor free. Power and water sites available. No Sani dump. Management is on site for a for a few hours in the late afternoon/evening. Plan accordingly if you need wood or shower tokens. It's a simple, small campground and easy to get around.

The sites were a little tight for us. It was a bit hard for us to get into, and we have a 33ft long travel trailer. However, it’s absolutely beautiful with all the mountains around. We were only a 25 minute drive from downtown Banff, where we ended up taking a shuttle to the national park.

Nice little campground on the side of highway. Good access to town and the river behind is nice but the outhouse toilets needed to be cleaned more often, the shower heads have almost no pressure and the traffic noise is pretty bad.

Easily one of my top 3 campsites ever. There are a few sites on the river in the North end of the loop. As we were pulling in, we saw 3 ?elk? in the river watching us, although the picture only shows one. The river sounds were pleasant, but if you were closer to the highway there was some road noise.
