Absolutely a great place to launch a river trip because the Dolores is running high enough right now to launch solo if you’re brave enough to take the plunge.
Bradford Bridge Recreation Area...Clean, quiet (most of time). Drive around the area! Cross the bridge! Take your bathing suit in the summer. Cool area!! On many occasions there is no one there. Other times... Its full... Summer holidays! 🇺🇸
Nice campground. The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is due to the noise from semi trucks driving down to the Dolores River access road to fill up with water. If you’re campsite is deeper into the campground you might not hear them.
The road is smooth gravel. Water only avoidable during summer months. Sites are very level. Some of the sites have covers over the picnic table and fire rings. Very few have any river access. Raft ramp is just before campsite.
Beautiful area nestled between cliffs. Easy river access for kayaks. Campsites had nice covered picnic areas. Vault toilets and some hand-pump potable water. No electricity, no Wi-Fi, no radio stations. I think they could mow some of areas where people are going to place tents. We still had a good stay.
