For those of us who call Montana home, the search for that perfect, tranquil spot to escape the everyday hustle is a constant pursuit. This site is particularly appealing for those who appreciate the subtle beauty of the prairie, combined with the calming presence of a nearby river. The surrounding prairie grasslands provide a distinct Montana backdrop, offering wide-open skies and a sense of boundless freedom. It’s important for campers to be aware that while peaceful, the sounds of the nearby highway and passing trains can sometimes be heard, a small trade-off for its accessible location.

This is a secret little site surrounded by Prairie. Grasslands and succulent deciduous trees. There's about six for mal sites with a level gravel spot. Each site can accommodate two vehicles above 33 ft long. It has a vaulted bathroom which is spotlessly clean. There is a picnic table and a fire ring with a gray at each site. The picnic tables are extended for easy wheelchair access. There are loads of birds. The best site is by the river that has the shade of a tree. The others don't have much shade. You do hear the highway and the trains going by. Cell service is about 1/3 bar. When we were camping in middle of June there was only one other caper and the best site next to the tree. There is also boat access here to the river.
WOW what a nice place to stop. Traveling with a trailer and found this place. Quiet and peaceful.
Nice camping grounds and access to the Yellowstone River for fishing.
It was a great place to camp overnight while heading to butte Montana from Sturgis SD to visit Evel Knievel’s grave site.
Beautiful campground, easy access to the river, firepits, picnic tables. The only problem is the trains at night. I counted 8 last night, NoSleep.
